Think of a time when you or

someone you know has shown

courage?

Rosa Parks“I have learned over the years that when one's

mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing

what must be done does away with fear.”

Rosa Parks stood up for equal rights for black

people in America in 1955. She stood up for what she

believed to be right and did not follow the segregation

laws at the time.

She refused to give up her seat on the bus for a

white man. Her courageous act helped initiate the

civil rights movement in the USA.

This week, each hub a picture. This picture will present

us with a challenge about the importance of courage

in our lives today.

You will have some time in class looking, thinking and

discussing the picture. Your task is to think about how

this will effect the way you think, feel and behave.

Your opinions, thoughts and feelings can be

recorded in a values book within your hub spaces.

It takes courage to admit you are wrong

It takes courage to learn from your mistakes

It takes courage to do make difficult choices

It takes courage to make new starts, new friends, start
