FORMER CHARLESTON COUNTY DEPUTY SHERIFF ARRESTED
A former Deputy Sheriff with Charleston County Sheriff s Office was arrested by SLED agents onTuesday, August 14, 2007, and charged with two counts of Official Misconduct.
Christopher M. Lanoue, 24, of 1852 Mepkin Road, Charleston, South Carolina was arrested atapproximately 3:00 p.m. Lanoue was booked at the Charleston County Detention Center.
The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by SLED at the request of the Charleston CountySheriff s Office. The case will be prosecuted by the Ninth Circuit Solicitor's Office.

That on June 21, 2007, at approximately1:00 a.m., during a vehicle pursuit that endedon Highway 7 at Orleans Road, Charleston, S.C., County of Charleston, State of SouthCarolina, the defendant, Christopher M. Lanoue, a Deputy Sheriff with CharlestonCounty Sheriff's Office did commit the offense of Official Misconduct. This being inviolation of the Common Law of the State of South Carolina, in that the defendant didwillfully, unlawfully, and feloniously used unnecessary force in that he withoutprovocation,kickedthe driverof the vehicle who was clearly restrained in handcuffstwotimes. Facts to establishthe aboveis a VHS recordingfrom a CharlestonCounty Deputy
