COORDINATE SYSTEM
On a sphere such as the Earth, we can pinpoint the location of any city or landmark using two values, the lines of latitude and lines of longitude.
LINES OF LATITUDE
• On the Earth there are two reference points.
• The Equator divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
LINES OF LONGITUDE
The Prime Meridian divides the Earth into the Western Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere.
