Mobile Devices

1947- AT&T commercialized Mobile Telephone Service

Prior to 1973, mobile cell-phones were used for cars

1973- First hand-held mobile phone

1991

1992 -the first SMS messaging was used

1997-2003 in Japan

2000- gradual increase of text messaging

2002- First Blackberry device

2004- 500 billion SMS messages in 2004.

2007- First iPhone

2007- Android operating system launched

2011- iMessage released
