Capabilities
• Once an SSP is selected for the plant, a site audit is initiated, which results in a full environmental cost modeling of the site by the SSP. • GARP and the Site review the SSP proposal for quality of analysis and commercial attractiveness. • If acceptable, KPI’s, SLA’s and contracts are developed and a Site Kick-off is scheduled. • Target timing from initiation is 4-6 months. • Goal is a 80% reduction in landfill, a 80% reduction in number of suppliers and a savings of >10% of total waste spend.
SSP Phase ISelection of an SSP candidate based on a GARP and HS&E assessment that they possess the requisite Financial Stability, Data & Logistics Mgt and Compliance capabilities to meet P&G needs. Process begins with e-mail to site then pre audit meeting.
SSP Phase IIIKey to any SSP’s ongoing success is the ability to deliver ongoing cost improvement to the site, including innovation on key waste streams, and to support sustainability education for the site.
AUDIT
TWICE YEARLY SSP ASSESSMENT SURVEY
SSP Phase IIOnce site audit is complete and an SSP has control of the site’s waste management, strong relationship mgt skills are critical, in managing the P&G Site and supporting External Vendors. SSP assessments begin 3 months after SSP implementation.

QUARTERLY REVIEWS
Alternative Use
What is Alternative Use (Alt Use)?
• When product or materials expire and cannot be sold, GARP looks for alternative uses to avoid the cost and environmental impact of disposal. • This requires collaboration with multiple internal functions including Product Supply, QA, HS&E and Finance to ensure internal and external compliance. • GARP utilizes its strong supplier base and industry expertise to identify and cultivate new Alt Use opportunities. • GARP implements strong contractual agreements and witnessing programs to protect against product diversion, cannibalization , or misuse.
