PreparationThe surface must be clean, dry and free from wax, algae, mould andother contaminants. Bare wood requires minimum 2 coats. If thedeck is softwood or weathered extra coats may be required. The finalcolour will depend on the original colour of the wood and the numberof coats applied. The finish will get darker with more coats of thecoloured Decking Oil. Where the deck is weather stained,discoloured, or of poor appearance use Rustins Decking Cleaner orRustins Composite Decking Cleaner to clean and revive the surface.

ApplicationStir well before use. Apply liberally using the largest brushpractical. Synthetic bristle brushes designed for water-basedvarnishes are recommended. Try to keep a wet edge asoverlapping a dry film will produce a darker patch, as will drips andruns. Do not apply when rain is expected. Do not use below 10ºC, indamp conditions or if rain is imminent.

Re-Coating TimeThe Decking Oil will be dry in approximately 30 minutes dependingon temperature and humidity. Further coats should be applied aftera minimum of three hours. If applying over wood previously treatedwith a wood preserver test a small area first to ensure the deckingoil dries and adheres well.

MaintenanceThe finish will not flake or peel and will last many years if applied ona well prepared surface. When re-coating is necessary, clean thesurface first with Rustins Decking Cleaner or Rustins CompositeDecking Cleaner. Allow to dry then re-coat as above.

Coverage1 litre will cover approximately 14 sq metres with 1 coat.

CleaningRemove as much product as possible and return to this container.Brushes should then be cleaned immediately with water. Hardbrushes can be cleaned with Rustins Brush Restorer.

Disposal (pollution prevention)Some local authorities have special facilities for disposal of wastepaints/varnishes/coatings. Do not empty product into drains orwatercourses.

StorageStore in a cool dry place with the lid tightly closed. Protect fromfrost.

Do not get into eyes, on skin, or on clothing.

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.

Use personal protective equipment as required.
