On the night of His betrayal Jesus was praying in the Garden of

Gethsemane. As He prayed His sweat turned to blood. He prayed

“Father, if it is possible, let this

cup pass from me; nevertheless, not my will be done, but

Your Will.”

Congregation

“Thy Will be done.”

Worship Leader

Judas the betrayer said "The One I shall kiss is the

man; seize Him."

Congregation

“He was betrayed with a kiss.”

Worship Leader

The soldiers took Jesus to Pilate. He had Jesus flogged. The soldiers put a crown of

thorns on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe

and mocked him saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

Congregation

“Hail King of the Jews”

Worship Leader

Then the soldiers blind folded him and struck Him

on the face saying, “Prophecy who hit you?”

Congregation

“And they struck Him”

Worship Leader

When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the

man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw

him, they shouted,

Congregation

“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

Worship Leader

Finally Pilate handed Him over to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to

the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

Congregation

There they crucified him!

Worship Leader

Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to

the cross. It read: Here is Jesus of Nazareth,

The King of the Jews.

Congregation

King of the Jews

Worship Leader:

Jesus upon the cross bore the sin of mankind

and cried out:

Congregation:

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Worship Leader:

Jesus was hung on the cross between two

thieves. One mocked Him, one asked for His

mercy. Jesus said to the one who asked for mercy:

Congregation

“Today you will be with me in paradise"

Worship Leader

Jesus feeling compassion on the crowd cried out to

God:

Congregation:

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they

do!”

Worship Leader

Knowing that all was completed and that the

Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said,

Congregation

“I am thirsty.”

Worship Leader

A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a

sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of a hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the

drink, Jesus said:

Congregation

“It is finished”

Worship Leader:

Then Jesus said: “Father into your hands I

commend my spirit”With that, Jesus bowed

His head and gave up his spirit.
