Spring 2009Assessment Committee to create appropriate learning objectives and rubrics to assess the three concepts

Fall 2009Assessment committee to select two learning strategies to implement in each of the three areas

Spring 2010

Provide training in the selected learning strategies

Fall 2010

Implement the learning strategies in four sections of each gateway course with faculty choosing which of the selected strategies to use.

Initiative Two

Develop a free, enhanced study skills workshop and a free study skills course.

Tailor Learning Center and Library services to promote student and faculty awareness of various learning styles and the relationship between learning styles and learning strategies to student success.

Initiative Four

Establish a professional development program.

Annual Summer Academy conducted by outside expert

QEP Workshops during Fall and Spring in-services

Increase faculty communications regarding successful teaching/learning strategies—SAILS form

Provide mentoring to adjunct faculty and bring new faculty aboard

Develop SAILS Web page for faculty
