Safe in His Hand

John 10:22-30

1. The chronic unbelief of the Jewish leaders

(vv. 24-27)

• The Jewish leaders should have believed.

(vv. 24-25)

• The Jewish leaders were not His sheep.

(vv. 26-27)

“but you do not believe because you are not

among my sheep.” – John 10:26 ESV

“but you do not believe because you are not

among my sheep.” – John 10:26 ESV

“but you do not believe because you are not

my sheep.” – John 10:26 NIV

“But I said to you that you have seen me and

yet do not believe. All that the Father gives

me will come to me, and whoever comes to

me I will never cast out.” – John 6:36-37

“But I said to you that you have seen me and

yet do not believe. All that the Father gives

me will come to me, and whoever comes to

me I will never cast out.” – John 6:36-37

“This is why I told you that no one can come

to me unless it is granted him by the

Father.” – John 6:65

What shall we say then? Is there injustice on

God's part? By no means! For he says to

Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have

mercy, and I will have compassion on whom

I have compassion.” So then it depends not

on human will or exertion, but on God, who

has mercy. – Romans 9:14-16

For the Scripture says, “Everyone who

believes in him will not be put to shame.”

For there is no distinction between Jew and

Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all,

bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the

Lord will be saved.”– Romans 10:11-13

John 10:22-30

2. The eternal security of Christ’s sheep (vv.

28-30)

• Kept safe by Christ Himself (v. 28)

• Kept safe by the Father (vv. 29-30)

“All that the Father gives me will come to

me, and whoever comes to me I will never

cast out. For I have come down from heaven,

not to do my own will but the will of him

who sent me.

And this is the will of him who sent me, that

I should lose nothing of all that he has given

me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is

the will of my Father, that everyone who

looks on the Son and believes in him should

have eternal life, and I will raise him up on

the last day.”– John 6:37-40

And I am sure of this, that he who began a

good work in you will bring it to completion

at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6
