Shakespeare’s Background

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford, England and not much is known about his life before he was 18. He spent most his time writing and performing plays in London. Shakespeare wrote 154 sonnet and 38 plays during his lifetime. He was married to Anne Hathaway and had three kids which on died at age 11. Shakespeare wrote mainly tragedies but also wrote comedies and histories.
