• Leavesofnettle– 65% ofprescriptions (complexofvitamins,flavonoids andphytosterols)

Thereare66 referencebookscontaining550antidiabetic prescriptions,whichincludes 237 medicinalplantsindifferentcombinations.

Analysisofallergyrisksofinclusionofextractsfromtheseplantsindietarysupplementsandspecializedfoodshasbeendone.Itisshownthattheextractofblueberryleaveshasminimalrisk.

Theefficacyoftheextractofblueberryleaveshasbeendemonstratedonthestreptozotocin induceddiabetesmodel(invivo).

Beneficialeffectsarehypoglycemicandantioxidant.

Formulationsoffoodsforspecialdietaryuseswithmodifiedcarbohydrateprofilehavebeendeveloped.

Theefficacyoftheseproductsintendedforpatientswithtype2diabetesmellitusisshowninclinicaltrial.
