Region Training Conference 2013
What is RTC? Region Training Conference is an an-
nual event that is hosted by every re-
gion in the CNH District. It is hosted by
all of the Lieutenant Governors of that
region and is a chance for the mem-
bers and advisors in the divisons to
bond, celebrate, and have a memo-
rable time as they prepare for Fall
Rally and a golden year ahead! We
are Region 14, and we have 2 Divi-
sions in our Region: Division 14 and Di-
vision 39 and we have planned and
overnight camping trip for RTC! This
will be an amazing leadership experi-
ence and we invite all of YOU
(members, officers, friends of mem-
bers & advisors) to come and enjoy a
golden weekend with our ohana!
Why should you attend RTC?
Members: RTC is a golden opportunity for
all of you to meet members just like you,
passionate about service and who love to
have fun, while getting to learn how to
better serve your clubs!
Officers: RTC is the golden moment for
you to learn how to lead your clubs and
help better serve the members you love!
Advisors: We need you to help out with
chaperoning! We also have golden activi-
ties and workshops designed for you to
help become an even better advisor!
Theme Inspiration
The magical world of Harry Potter was
something most of us wanted to experi-
ence as kids and even now, but you wont
have to go through platform 9 3/4 to do
so! Service is golden it is how we, Key
Clubbers, make an impact and change
the world, and RTC is your golden oppor-
tunity to experience a magical weekend
filled with fun activities, informational
workshops, and a lifetime of unforgettable
memories. Join us as we begin the golden
age of service together!

You are required to fill out the following paperwork! One copy of
each must be with your club president! You will need Medical Re-
lease Form and the Code of Conduct! You can download these
forms from www.d14robots.weebly.com/rtc.html without these forms
you cannot attend RTC so please make sure you have them!
As this is an over-night camping trip most of you might be wonder-
ing, where will we spend the night? We wanted you all to experi-
ence the ultimate camping experience so we will be staying in tents!
If you have a tent with you, we would ask that you bring your tent,
we are specifically looking for members to volunteer to bring tents
because we can only provide so much of our own! Sign up sheets
will be sent out soon! But if you do not have a tent, there isn’t a
problem as well because we will be sharing tents and we will make
sure there are enough for all members!
Every month I will send you a challenge of the
month that I want you to complete. These aren’t
mandatory but are helpful and stack up for Robo
Points!
Start a PTP Change Jar collection. Every time you
have change, just put it into the jar and keep on
collecting money! Then bring it to the October DCM
to submit! The date for that will be released later!

OUR SPECIAL GUEST . . .
Hello Region 14!
My name is Amanda Redublo and I serve as the 2013-
2014 CNH District Secretary! I would like to thank you for
allowing me the GOLDEN opportunity of attending
2013 RTC with you all! Before getting to meet you all,
here are some facts about myself!
I ran as District Secretary because I LOVE the posi-
tion of secretary and I have the passion of Key
Club consistently on my mind. Serving as District
Secretary has changed my life and I couldn’t be
any more happier!
My older brother was a Key Clubber and he was
the one who encouraged me to join. Little did he
know that a year after he graduated, I was
elected to serve in a district po-
sition.
I love food. I don’t question it, I
just eat.
I want to know more about all of
you! I hope to see you all at Region
14 Training Conference! This will be a
GOLDEN weekend full of memories!
Hope to see you soon!
- Amanda Redublo

COST BREAKDOWN
What? Percentage Cost
Facility Use 75% $10
Food 25% $6.00
Shirt (optional) (optional) $12
Most of you are probably
wondering, why does RTC
cost money? Well seeing
that this is a camping trip,
there are some fees in-
volved!
Food: We will provide you
all with dinner for Friday
Night, Breakfast Saturday
Morning, Snacks and Satur-
day Lunch. The cost of all
these meals equals just $6
for the whole weekend!
Facility Use: Since we are
renting a group camping
area, this costs money and
to help pay for that, we are
charging $10 bringing your
total to just $16 for a magi-
cal weekend!
Other than the basic fee of $16, there are some other costs. The cost for trans-
portation varies on your own transportation method. You can choose to car-
pool, come with an advisor, or even rent a bus, that is all up to you and your
club! We will also be featuring RTC shirts for this year for an extra cost of just
$12! This might cost a lot for the moment but being able to wear that shirt to
show your friends and family what an amazing experience you had and be-
ing able to have something more than photos, growth, and memories will be
something amazing to look back upon. Adding the shirt would bring total fees
to $28 but remember the shirt is optional.

What is the Code of
Conduct?
The Code of Conduct is a document
that will be distributed to all members
who will be attending Region Training
Conference. It is a guideline dealing
with the proper behavior and attire
that all members must abide by. Its
purpose is to ensure that all attendees
of Region Training Conference are
safe.
Why is abiding by it so important?
As previously stated, the Code of Conduct
is enforced mainly to keep all members
safe. It is there to ensure that all attendees
are free from any situations that may
make them feel uncomfortable or in dan-
ger. The Code of Conduct also keeps Key
Club’s professional image intact. The ob-
jective is for all members to represent Key
Club and themselves properly. By signing
their name on the Code of Conduct, all
members agree to adhere to these stan-
dards throughout Region Training Confer-
ence.
Safety Comes First!
Make sure you read over the code of con-
duct before signing it to make sure you un-
derstand all of the rules that apply. For
other safety purposes we also need the
MEDICAL RELEASE FORM and the KIWANIS
PHOTO RELEASE FORM to be filled out and
signed by all attendees! At NO TIME
SHOULD A GIRL BE IN A BOYS TENT AND A
BOY BE IN A GIRLS TENT. All attendees must
have an advisor with them when going
around and must always be in a group of
4 minimum plus advisor! Curfew is at mid-
night! Make sure to follow the code of
conduct at all times and lets have a fun
weekend!

EVERY YEAR, Nickelodeon goes
completely dark for three hours
on Worldwide Day of Play, tak-
ing programming off the air on
all of its channels and shutting
down its websites to reinforce
one simple message: Get up,
get out, and go play! Over the
past decade, these efforts have
resulted in thousands of events
and millions of kids being active
and pursuing healthy lifestyles.
This year’s celebration is a sum-
mer-long initiative leading up to
Worldwide Day of Play on Satur-
day, September 21, 2013. Nick-
elodeon invites you to cele-
brate and amplify your pro-
grams that keep kids healthy
and active all year long by par-
ticipating in this monumental
day of play!
Hosting a Worldwide Day of
Play event is fun and totally doable! The event can be big, small, an hour long, or all day.
Worldwide Day of Play is a great way to increase visibility around your organization’s com-
mitment to physical activity, sports, and recreational activities. Kids just need to have fun

From the expenses of Fall Rally to fundraising for PTP and MNT, fundrais-
ing is going to be a BIG part of our year. So here are some fundraising
ideas that we invite you all to try out in your own home clubs to help
raise money! Feel free to let us know how they work afterwards!
PIE AN OFFICER
Hosting a Pie an Officer Event can be very fun and enjoyable, and at
the same time it can raise a lot of money for your event! Just make sure
the officers are all willing to get pied and advertise with all of your
members! You actually don’t need to spend money on getting pies,
just get whipped cream on a plate!
FUNDRAISE WITH A COMPANY
Many local restaurants and stores are there to help you! Most of them
offer deals where you can sell coupon cards
or ask for a time frame in which if people
mention your club, a certain amount of
profits go to your club so work on that!
KIWANIS TAKEOVER
Get to know your Kiwanis Clubs better, work
on taking over there meeting and also have
a raffle event where you raffle off baskets

have been used and work but you can al-
ways create your own!

Leadership is GOLD
Attending Leadership Training Conference along with the DCM
was a wonderful experience. Going to whole new kinds of
workshops, I learned lots of information i can use to benefit my-
self for a better me and a better Key Clubber! We did spirit bat-
tles with different division and district cheers in the middle of
the park, talked about what criteria we still need to meet as a
division and went over some important information. Last but
not least, it was a very great and enjoyable time !

Morning Division Bonding
With the school year approaching, Key Club members gath-
ered together to help setup at Wine with Friends, Beer with
Buddies service event at Live Oak Community center from 9
am to 1 pm. The service event was a Kiwanis Fundraiser for
people 21 and over. Key Club members from River Valley,
Live Oak, and Marysville came to volunteer. Right as we
walked in everyone started to setup chairs, tables, and help
unload cars. After that some people were making fruit ke-
babs and samosas while the others helped decorate. All the
members had fun and bonded while volunteering. It was a
great start to the day.

Under the Golden Stars
For this month’s Division Council Meeting, key clubbers from Marysville,
Yuba City, River Valley and Albert Powell gathered at the Gauche
Aquatic park here in Yuba City. We spent the early evening playing ice
breakers and catching up with other members that we hadn’t seen all
summer. After sharing club reports, we discussed upcoming fundraisers
for PTP and of course, our RTC coming up in September. We all cannot
wait for the overnight camping trip we have planned with Division 39!
After the meeting was adjourned, a handful of key clubbers headed
over into the water park for a night full of swimming and club bonding.
Overall, it was a successful and amazing way to end the summer.

Carwash for PTP
On Saturday August 3rd, division 14 had a blast spending the
day washing cars at our Division wide Car wash! Fundraising
this for our district project, Pediatric Trauma Prevention, we
raised around $100. From preparing baked goodies and
washing many cars, to holding signs for advertisement we can
say the car wash has been a total success. We had a great
team of key clubbers that did amazing work washing the cars,
it was absolutely incredible. We are definitely getting closer to
our goal of raising $2000 by Fall Rally and also saving more
and more lives as we raise more money!

THANK YOU MR. GHAG
The Official CNH Division 14 Newsletter | September 2013 Page 26
Mr. Ghag,
As your term serving as Kiwanis Division 14 Lieutenant Gover-
nor ends this year, Division 14 Key Club and I wanted to take
the time out to thank you. Thank you for everything you have
done for our division this year. Thank you for everything you
have done not just to better the lives of people in our local
community, but for everyone around the world. Thank you for
always being kind and always being there when we needed
you. And, of course, thank you for all of the support you have
given Key Club for these continued years serving as a Faculty
Advisor and as an Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor. They
say that “A title does not make you a leader. It is the actions
you choose to take to care for and guide your peers that
make you a leader.” Well I couldn’t find anyone better than
you to describe that quote. You have been such an incredi-
ble leader, inspiring many others just like me and you will con-
tinue to be one. In no way could we repay you for all of the
support and love you have given us but I hope this will do for
now. Thank you again, so much for helping us be golden.
