Richard lives in Worthing in West Sussex, close to Brighton on the south coast of England. His house is pink!

Richard left school when he was fifteen. He worked as a printer for two and a half years and then went to work in a recording studio.

In his mid-twenties, Richard attended a School of Mime in London. After this, he went on to perform mime plays across theUK and abroad.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Richard appeared as a regular background police office in the TV series ‘The Bill’.

Richard has appeared on a number of other TV shows, including Eastenders, Poirot and the Generation Game!

Richard has also worked as a security guard at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Richard has written and starred in a children’s TV comedy series called ‘Snug and Cozi’ about two crazy aliens who crash-land on Earth.

Richard has learned many amazing circus skills including juggling, unicycling, fire-eating, walking on glass, lying on a bed of nails and knife throwing!

In 2006, Richard caught a bug that began to destroy his left eye. Unfortunately, his left eye had to be removed and he now wears a prosthesis.

Richard was one of the firstBritish podcasters in the UK.He has recorded thousands of podcast episodes and he also wona podcast award in 2005.

Richard’s loves books, particularly history books. He can’t resist popping into a secondhand bookshop and buying something!

Richard has met QueenElizabeth II. However, hewas dressed as a schoolboy in a blazer and shorts(even though he was forty years old)!

In 2011, Richard launched‘The Bald Explorer’. This wasa documentary series aboutBritish History and it has been broadcast on the Community Channel in the UK.

The first town featured in ‘The Bald Explorer’ TV series was Lewesin East Sussex.

Richard owns a coracle and has paddled it on the River Severn in Shropshire.

Richard once spent the night in a haunted house, looking for ghosts. He didn’t find any!

Richard has always loved writing. He has written three books in the ‘Splidge the Cragflinger’ series.
