RECYFIX®HICAP® is a perfect combination of discrete design and full functionality for linear drainage. Wide
grates have been replaced by narrow slots making it possible to install the system into various types of
objects, including those with high aesthetic demands.

sections made of PE-PP plastic (available in two heights:
200 and 300 mm) and narrow gratings made of ductile cast

RETENTION
The design of RECYFIX®HICAP®, channels is unique due to
its high hydraulic efficiency which ensures additional
retention capacity. The system simultaneously performs
three tasks:
Drains water, even from large areas
Stores excessive amounts of water
Channels water to the discharge point
RECYFIX®HICAP® eliminates the need for additional
storage reservoirs.
MODULAR DESIGN – LOW NUMBER OF CONNECTIONS
RECYFIX®HICAP® is so effective because large areas
can be implemented with one single channel run.
Starting with a nominal width of 100 mm it offers the
option to expand up to 680 mm. Drainage wells can be
installed in any chosen location used for connecting
channels to sewage systems or for connecting other
drainage channels – it can also be used as a pumping
well/chamber.

Plastics are made mainly from petroleum but only approx.
4% of world oil production is used for this purpose. This
is a very efficient process. By using plastic products in
this improved process the amount of energy saved
exceeds up to seven times the amount of energy
produced from oil.

RECYFIX® HICAP®
RECYFIX® - HIGH QUALITY RECYCLED MATERIAL
PRODUCTIONRecycled plastics are used as a recovered raw material
with almost no loss of quality or energy. Worn/used plastic
parts are processed back into granules, adding (if
necessary) a small amount of new raw material in order to
increase quality to the required level. This method is used
for producing material of a very high quality, which is used
for the RECYFIX®HICAP® channel body. Recycled plastics
for RECYFIX® are produced in modern plastic recycling
plants. They use high-quality industrial plastics,
e.g. from the automotive industry and machinery
engineering.

DISCONTINUOUS DESIGN
Inlet elements don’t have to be installed on every
channel’s body. The draining line is continuous under the
surface, but its top part may be covered.
CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS
All elements of the system can be adapted to the individual requirements and building conditions of
a given project. Both the height of the channels and the preparation of special solutions for covers
for trash boxes or angular connections of channels can be adjusted.

CONNECTING THE COVERS OF RECYFIX®HICAP® F SYSTEM
Continuous development of our products has resulted in the
improved structure of a new type of grating. The grating is now
equipped with prefabricated tongues, with which it is possible to
use locking pins. The grating design provides:
horizontal stability of grating
protection against grating displacement
Interlocking design of the grating.
FLOW REGULATORS FOR TRASH BOXES
When the flow of rainwater and surface water must be stabilized,
RECYFIX®HICAP® system can incorporate a flow regulator
AQUAFIX® RGS or RGV. The retention channel of
RECYFIX®HICAP® ensures sufficient accumulation of water in
the well with the flow regulator, generating hydrostatic pressure.
The advantage of using flow regulators AQUAFIX® RGS or RGV
is the fact that they can be used for untreated storm-water,
minimizing the risk of blocking the channel.
CONNECTING ELEMENTS
Connecting elements facilitate quick and simple connection of
the next, larger (nominal width) sections of the drainage/
retention channel. This allows contractors to easily change the
nominal width of the drainage/retention channel. Assembly of
the connecting elements can be carried out at the factory.

Completed projects
Bałtyk Tower, PoznańThe citizens of Poznań are sentimental about the former
building of Bałtyk cinema. Its worthy successor is currently
dominating over the city centre. Bałtyk Tower like a
neomodernist chameleon gives a totally different
impression depending on the place from which we are
looking at it. The building constitutes the first design of a
famous Dutch MVRDV design studio in Poland. Polish co-
architects Natkaniec/Olechnicki Architekci were also invited
to cooperation. Both architecture design studios do not
refer to ready-made solutions and the design process is for
them the consequence of new building needs. The body of
the building is not the only element which reflects special
attitude towards this design. “The facade of the building is
like an elegant dress for a woman”, said the originator and
inventor Piotr Voelkel during the inauguration of Bałtyk.
Window motif was in turn inspired by Poznań modernism, in
particular by this style’s icon – “Okrąglak” by Marek Leykam.
Bałtyk impresses with the attention paid to details from its
top to the surrounding area.
Place called “Harbor” – the space which connected Bałtyk
and Concordia Design transformed into a new and natural
communication route. The design of drainage installation
encircling Bałtyk Tower was prepared by Termostudio,
design studio from Poznań. Narrow but clearly marked inlet
slots of RECYFIX®HICAP®G channels constitute an
inherent element of their surroundings. Initially, standard
height design was chosen. Due to limited space of the
installation area, we suggested some modification and
performed channels characterized by appropriately chosen
height, as the system was supposed to comply with the
parameters concerning fast drainage as well as big
retention of rainwater. Within this project we also
performed special angle coupling with the use of inspection
bases on manholes. In this way, the access to the inspection
of channels hidden under the surface has been facilitated,.
We suggested a simple solution for the drainage of wooden
stairs connecting Concordia with Bałtyk: FASERFIX®KS
channels without grating. The arrangement of channels
under the boards enabled the receiving of water going
down the stairs.

Warsaw Spire, WarsawWarsaw Spire is the biggest office building in the capital
city and one of the highest in Europe. It is located in the
neighborhood of Daszynskiego Roundabout in Wola. Once
industrial district of Warsaw now it’s changing into an office
center full of elegant office buildings, competing among
themselves not only in the height, or architecture, but also
in surrounding of the buildings. Warsaw Spire is 180 meters
high to the roof and 220 meters high with spiers. Outside
the tower part the building consists of two 11 storey office
buildings, which resemble the crescent-shaped walls
surrounding the European square.
Once designing the drainage system for Warsaw Spire
HAURATON was looking for the most tailor-made solutions
for this demanding skyscraper. Along the main building,
HAURATON proposed system RECYFIX®HICAP® with high
retention capacity and aesthetic narrow inlet slot. During
the successive stages of cooperation there were made
accurate selections and detailed calculations to ensure
proper selection of the nominal width of this system.
For the needs of this project HAURATON have prepared a
special, dedicated solution. Combination of
FASERFIX®POINT 30x30 point drainage and
FASERFIX®KS linear drainage with a solid ductile iron
cover. Channels with the gratings are hidden under
granite slabs in the atrium between the objects and only
gratings from FASERFIX®POINT inlets are visible on
passageways. This solution provides appropriate hydraulic
parameters but also minimalistic design of the draining
system, visually not distorting the square in the atrium.
The Warsaw Spire project also included FASERFIX®KS
system on driveways, and RECYFIX®STANDARD channels
with a stainless slotted cover, performed specially to the
requirements of this project. Slotted channels with a
discreet inlet slot are fitted along the building facade.

RECYFIX® HICAP®
Completed projects
The World Games 2017, WrocławA special track for roller-skating sports in Wrocław Park
Tysiąclecia is an investment conducted in connection with
the 10th World Games 2017 in Wrocław. The sports complex
for professionals and roller skating enthusiasts consists of a
200-metre-long speed track and a 600-metre-long road
track. In the area around the tracks, it is planned to build
beach volleyball and beach handball courts as well as a
boules pitch.
The design of the track was created in the Palmett-Ogrody
Design Studio in 2015. The aim of which was to be a facility
in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of
international roller-skating organisations. The drainage
system was selected precisely to ensure maximum safety
for the skaters. Due to the specificity of the development
and elliptical arrangement, Michał Linke - Key Project
Manager offered the use of RECYFIX®HICAP®F channels in
three channel widths.
The narrow intake slot with the same width along the
entire length of the channels line for the ability to pick up
the water as quick and efficient as possible were
important. The straight lines of the channels were
arranged in a standard way, and the inlet covers were
placed intermittently every 1 metre. The contractor has
seen this kind of channel arrangement for the first time, he
needed help and advice onsite. Owing to the experience
with such a solution in other reference facilities, we
managed to adjust and mount the channels efficiently.
While working on this project, we also verified the
correctness of the inspection covers to the system well
which allowed us to improve our product.

The International Conference Centre in KatowiceThe MCK/ICC building in Katowice completed in March 2015
is a multi-purpose facility designed primarily for the organi-
sation of events. It serves as a conference, exhibition and
entertainment centre. The building, erected on a post-
industrial area is incorporated into the city’s public space
through its design. It has an area accessible to the public - it
is a green diagonal passage across the roof of the building,
and the main foyer that connects the two entrances - from
Plac Honorowy in front of the Spodek Arena and the
entrance from Olympijska street. The green roof has
become the primary compositional element of the Centre
and is widely recognisable. Due to its location, various kinds
of drainage were selected for the investment.
FASERFIX®KS - Durable and stable microfibre reinforced
concrete channels have been installed at parking spaces
and along the front façade of the building. In areas where
linear drainage was difficult to apply, FASERFIX®POINT -
point drainage system was installed with a cast iron
grating. Its black colour perfectly matches the general
concept of the building. For areas of high pedestrian
traffic, RECYFIX®HICAP®F plastic channels with 6 mm
slots were selected. In addition to draining the area these
systems also have water retention function. The elegant,
black RECYFIX®HICAP®F grate is a discrete addition to
the resulting Centre.

Completed projects
Warsaw Chopin AirportThe project involved the construction of a PPS 12 apron
with a DK8 taxiway along with the installation of a surface
drainage system using the RECYFIX®HICAP® high capacity
retention and drainage channel system. It was the first
airport in Poland for whichthis system was applied.
The wide sweep of paved surfaces, long rows of channels
and the large catchment area required the use of a system
that will guarantee fast and reliable rainwater drainage. A
decision was therefore taken to use RECYFIX®HICAP®
channels due to the large capacity of the system’s
hydraulic components. They allowed for minimising the
number of sewers draining water to the main sewer. The
drainage system also fulfilled the conditions associated
with resistance to load and contact force that prevail on
this type of investment.

F1 racing circuit, Abu Dhabi.One of the most prestigious projects completed by
HAURATON was the drainage for the Formula 1 racing
circuit in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). During F1 races
vehicles drive for 56 laps at speeds reaching 320 km/h. The
performance depends not only on the car and the driver,
but also on the quality of the track. Very strict safety
standards are binding during F1 races. This results in
the definition of extremely high demands for the drainage
system. The surface drainage of the racing circuit in Abu
Dhabi was constructed using ( among others),
RECYFIX®HICAP® G. These channels not only comply with
the safety requirements, but also form an efficient
drainage line along the circuit, due to their excellent
hydraulic parameters. Components of the system receive
large amounts of water and transport it for long distances
to the main channel. Implementation of the project
required precisely harmonised delivery dates. All personnel
working on the site also felt great pressure of
responsibility. Staff and personnel from HAURATON
cooperated closely with the architects from Tolke GmbH &
Co. KG, responsible for the overall construction of the
racing circuit.
