Sweden is mecca of network sharing
• Someone else operates part of your network
• Several management systems

Hierarchical structure only possible
with IM enrichment
• Sites, sectors and repeaters are not available in CM
• Cn-Operator is not available in IM

• Think about required drill-down and roll-up scenarios
• Multivendor HetSite > Duplicated HetSite

New Managed Objects are
available in NE palette

Mix of CM
and IM
Attributes
Filter (e.g. Malmö)
10
IM attributes also available in
Calculation Palette
Use Cases
1. Sector Hierarchy: Aggregate carriers (cells) cover same direction,
better GIS presentation. A new level of drill-down, roll-up.
2. Site Hierarchy: Direct and indirect drill-down and roll-up across co-located
technology and vendor.
3. Ad-hoc Reporting: Easy to directly filter IM attributes in NE palette, less
need for Network Area.
4. Management Report: e.g. How many LTE900 cells/sites in Malmö passed
acceptance before March 2015.
5. Discrepancy Discovery: CM vs. IM reports (next step is KPI-alarm)
6. Complex KPIs: IM attributes are available in calculation palette. Complex
KPIs can be defined with IM attributes.
11
Challenges
• What should I export?
• Units, format should be clear
• Required drill-down and roll-up scenarios should be defined in requirements
• You will find data inconsistency in IM
• In case of conflict which attribute is master IM or CM?
• Trade-offs: Enrichment needs HW resources. Some preparation may be
needed for efficiency.
