Announcements from Mr. Beinke What’s New & Special Events Student Achievements
Welcome to RAIS Boys School
Dear Parents and Students,
We are now halfway through
the 2018-2019 school year.
Midterm exams have finished
and we are eagerly anticipating
an equally successful 3rd quar-
ter. The following pages will
give you a glimpse of what has
taken place both in and out of
the classroom from the past
nine weeks.
Like the first semester, we continue to involve health professionals from out-
side hospitals and clinics to educate students on healthy lifestyle choices.
We had our most ambitious Sports Day yet with a trip to a Sports Complex
in Khobar to participate in a variety of athletic events. Arabic Day gave the
students the opportunity to see how their culture has influenced the society
of the world that is still surrounding us today with its contributions in the Arts
and Sciences. With the AC Milan Center as its backdrop, the RAIS-Boys
hosted a football tournament last month with several local schools participat-
ing in which the two RAIS teams took both 1st and 2nd place trophies.
Inside the classroom we continue to involve interactive activities and pro-
jects in all subjects. Parent/Teacher conferences gave the chance for Par-
ents and Teachers to meet and discuss the progress of their child in their
classes, and how they can continue to grow both academically and socially.
The Middle School RAIS Honor Roll recognized its high performing students
that achieved grades of all A’s and B’s (pictures and names included). This
was the highest number of students on our Honor Roll we have ever had!
Finally, we believe that parent/school communication is fundamental in a
student’s success and growth, and our Administration is eager to work with
you. Please email your respective Head of Section for any questions or con-
cerns you may have, and even to drop a message to say hello. We enjoy
hearing from you! treye.beinke@rais.edu.sa
The school year is going quickly and I am very excited to begin the 3rd quar-
ter, and look forward to hearing from you. Please note the last page of this
Newsletter as there are important dates listed for the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Have a great holiday!
Best Regards,
Mr. Treye Beinke
Middle School Quarter 2 Events
Diabetes Awareness Day
Middle School students listened to a presen-tation from Doctors and Nurses about the Diabetes epidemic that is becoming a serious health risk in Saudi Arabia, and other nations around the world. They heard from profes-sionals about the damage Diabetes does to a person’s body, its symptoms and treatment, and most importantly how to prevent diabetes by knowing its warning signs and making healthy lifestyles choices re-garding diet and exercise. Students also had their blood sugar tested.
This event was organized by the RAIS Student Council.

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent/Teacher Conferences took place on the 23rd of November for all grades. Sign-ups were done online, and parents were able to visit all of their children's teachers. RAIS believes that communication between parents and teachers is fundamental in the academic achievement and growth of every child. It is also instru-mental in educating the whole-person and preparing them to become a productive member of society. We will have another conference day on the 8th of April.
Middle School Quarter 2 Events Sports Day
The Middle School boys took a trip to Khobar for their semester Sports Day. The boys spent the day participating in and learning about different sports. This took place at a sports complex in Khobar.

Math Project Projects are a great way to apply what you have learned in a way that can also educate other peo-ple. The 8th graders in Mr. Bertholet’s class did just that with their recent pro-ject on Sierpenski Triangle models and reports.
