WhoisFlatJesus?Theoriginal“flat”characterwasFlatStanley,starofabookbyJeffBrowninwhichaboyhasremarkableadventuresafterwakinguponedaytodiscoverheisflattenedtohalf-an-inchthick.ThiswasthebeginningoftheFlatStanleyprojectinschoolstohelpchildrenwithliteracyandgeographyandfromthisgrewtheFlatJesusProject.

FlatJesusremindsustokeepChristatthecenterofourliveseven,orespecially,whenwearefarfromourchurchhome.Asyouareoutandaboutthissummer,takeJesusalongfortheadventure.You’lllovetakingFlatJesusouttodinnerorthepark,toexoticlocationssuchasEuropeorLakePepin,tothezooortocamp—whereveryouandyourfamilygo.ThendocumenttheadventureswithpicturesyousharewithyourFirstPresbyterianChurchfamily.ThisprojectisforEVERYONE,notjustfamilieswithchildren.
