SmartGate, a solution for automatically
controlling national borders in 8
international airports. The company
has, today, more than 800 solutions for
border controls in several European
countries, as well as in the USA, Brazil,
Columbia, Venezuela, Australia, Qatar
and Rwanda among others.
ZARPH
This company specializes in cash
management and payment systems; in
September 2015 they sold 30 banknote
deposit machines to a German bank.
This machine allows clients to make 24
hour deposits, seven days a week.
TEKEVER
In September 2015 the Tianwang-1
mission launched three satellites into
space. The Portuguese technology
Gamalink, developed by Tekever, was
included within that mission. This
technology allowed the three satellites
to function together, like a satellite
constellation and not as a group of
three disconnected satellites.

More than a hundred technology service centres, such as The
Operational Unit on Governance of Electronics from the United
Nations University, recently created in Guimarães.
Portugal is the 5th European country with the highest number
of doctorates in science and technology per 1000 inhabitants

Portuguese universities have strengthened partnerships with
internationally renowned institutions such as MIT, Texas
