POSITION SHIFT PRESENTATION

By: Sagar Vyas

How many have travelled abroad ?

Just been on tourism ?

Lived abroad for a long time ?

Dad: “Son, I am planning on sending you to the United States for

college.”

Me: “???!?!?....whhhaaatt ???”

Lets Do This !!

Research on the Internet

Gathering opinions from different people

Contacting various career counselors

2nd half: Specific inquiry about colleges, course options,

required documents, fee structure, accommodation etc.

GO BIG BLUE !!

Process:

1. Documents: High school mark sheets, certificates, achievements,

passport copies, application for I-20, photographs, medical history for

the past 5 years etc.

2. Examinations: SAT 2(scholastic aptitude test) and TOEFL(Test of

English as a Foreign Language).

3. Visa application once the I-20 and college acceptance letter is

received.

After all the work and procedures, 9th August 2012:

U. S. A…HERE I COME !!

So this is me, Sagar Vyas, Indian by origin, here in US from Dubai, a

person, who had doubts and questions about college life in the

States. And now, 7 months from the day I landed here, I find

myself feeling right at home as I explore more and more everyday

in the hope that life keeps bringing me new challenges and

surprises….as I go along !
