5 Best Mexican Beaches Puerto Vallarta

Tulum

Cancun

Cabo San Lucas

Cozumel

# 1 - Puerto Vallarta• Why? – located on the Pacific coast

Has managed to retain some of its small town charm even though it records several tourists each year.

Home to a # of independent restaurants and hotels and features a beautiful boardwalk. The boardwalk is known as Malecón.

See the beautiful statues and sand sculptures along the boardwalk.

The nightlife scene here is among the best in Mexico.

# 2 - Tulum• Why? – Yucatan peninsula near Cancun & Cozumel

1 of the best swimming experiences in all of Mexico can be found at the beach just beneath the Tulum ruins.

If you come here in the early morning or evening, you'll find a quiet swimming area immediately beneath El Castillo, the old Mayan temple that is the centerpiece of the town's main attraction.

If the beach gets too crowded as the day progresses, head toward one of the Palapa resorts for a beachside yoga session.

# 3 - Cancun• Why? – on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula

Outside of hurricane season (June to November), the beach weather here tends to be about as good as it gets.

Amazing nightlife, but there has been an increase in crime rate in recent years.

The beaches themselves are immaculate, with unending stretches of clean, white sand.

# 4 - Cabo San Lucas• Why? – Bottom of the Baja Peninsula

Golf capital and high-class beach destination is perfect for luxury and business travelers…famous with celebrities.

Attracts families and ambitious Spring Breakers too.

Cabo has an abundance of excellent beaches, so you won't have trouble finding your favorite spot. We particularly recommend the classic beach at the picturesque Land's End rock formation.

# 5 - Cozumel• Why? - Yucatan Peninsula just south of Cancun

Cozumel would be higher on this list if it weren't for one major factor: overwhelming crowds.

Swarms of tourists descend on the island every year, many of them from cruise ships on a port of call.

Cozumel is home to a number of excellent beaches and is one of the premiere diving/snorkeling destinations in the world.
