After taking a summer break, the Parents of Disciples (PODS)Sunday School will begin meeting
again this Sunday. While your kids are enjoying KidsGrow, join other parents for time of discussion and fellowship. This week's topic will be "How to Help Your Kids Focus on Faith During the School Year". We'll discuss what type of study or discussion we'll have moving forward. We would love to have you join us and share your input on the type of Sunday School that would be most helpful to YOU!
Mission Backpack was such a huge success that
we've already decided to do it again next year! If you see backpacks or lunchboxes or high school supplies such as 3-ring binders on Clearance Sale in the coming weeks, please help us stock up for next year by bringing them to the church office.
Join us for our annual Community Block Party on Sunday, September 9 from 3:00-6:00 PM. We'll enjoy food, fellowship, and fun as we watch the Kansas City Chiefs in their season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. Pulled pork and other main dishes, drinks, and paper goods will be provided. Please bring a side, salad, or dessert to share. There will also be inflatables, games, and activities for all ages. Rain or shine! We need many volunteers to help make the event a success, so please visit the Valley View UMC website for a link to the volunteer sign-up.

Open Arms offers God’s love and care to people who are deeply hurt by the effects of mental/physical disabilities, drug/alcohol abuse, low academic achievement and racial/social class prejudice. Christian servants from many churches give their time and talent to help Open Arms offer tutoring, Girl Scouts, Bible study groups, Sunday School, worship and fellowship meals.
