Why …?

Why Pick Me Up ?

Almost every day, every hour, thousands of vehicles cross hundreds of miles from various locations without realizing the

fact that many of them follow the same route at the same time and can accompany people and earn some money,

reducing their cost of travel…

Why…?

Wouldn’t it be great, if there was an App such that when people have 1-2 or more seats vacant they could use it for

real-time car-pooling and earn some money…

Less traffic, less pollution, save expenses…

Why…?

What if you could see that person (whom you choose to Pick Up) even before you actually meet him…?

Wouldn’t it help you decide whether you should go ahead with the choice or choose another person…?

Why not use the power of Social Media…?

Objective:To serve all those users who are going on short journeys, have some seats vacant and are willing to Pick and Drop people for some money.

Passenger Driver

Result and User Evaluation:

J. Nielsen has shown that tests achieved with 5 users

allow to raise at least 80% of the usability problems…

Things they Liked…

• Log-in with Facebook – no need to add another username and password to an already existing long list.

• Social Media Integration – “it feels like the App is talking to us”

• Autocomplete: Recognition better than Recall

• Trust: can see the Passenger’s picture before sending an invitation

• Quick Summary and overview of Passenger results on click on a single screen.

• Error prevention and input validation.

• Aesthetic Appeal and color contrast of the UI.

Things that could be improved and Future Work…• Provide alternative ways of viewing the Passenger results eg. List

view

• Allow change of search criteria easily on the Map without going back.

• We wish to implement Google push notifications for exchange of notifications between Driver and Passenger as it is a better method of communication.

• Integrate with online money transfer services like Paypal for payment.
