Lines

Vertical Horizontal Diagonal

One-point perspective

When all lines lead to 1 vanishing point.

Two-point perspective

When all lines lead to 2 vanishing points.

Three-point perspective

When all lines lead to 3 vanishing points

Prior to the Renaissance

Artists were less concerned with the illusion of reality and more concerned with the content and symbolism of their work.

The size of each element in the image related much more to its importance, rather than it's placement in a space.

Before Perspective

The Egyptian’s belief was

that you needed all body

parts to be shown in the

depictions of the person in

order to have it in their

afterlife.

Renaissance

By the height of the Renaissance, artists

had mastered the mathematics and visual

techniques of perspective

painting in perspective is Raphael.

You will draw 3 buildings in one-point

perspective.

Each building will have at least 3 windows,

siding and one door.

The landscape drawing will have at least 1

road, and sidewalks on both sides of the

road.
