WHO Needs a PEP?
All students who have been identified for the Gifted and
Talented Program.
At this time students seen forenrichment do NOT need a PEP.
WHY?1. Monitor progress

4. Professional Development **5. Enhance your child’s education
HOW?Meeting with parent, child, GT
teacher, input from others.
Secondary may be handled differently due to numbers.

WHAT’S NEXT?1. Talk with your child about possible goals?2. Work with GT teacher to write the PEP in SMART format.3. Collaborate with your child and teacher to meet the goals.4. Jointly monitor progress in future.5. Contact GT teacher if concerns.

Instead of “I’m going to study more.”Say “I will devote 2 hours every night
to do my schoolwork.”
Instead of “I’m going to finish my term papers on time.”
Say “I will begin doing my term paper a month before the deadline, and
work consistently until completed.”
Work Completion / Time Management Example
“(Student) will manage time better by focusing more on
academics to be able to get a 3.8 grade-point average in all my
subjects”.
Social – Emotional Example
“This year I will join a club that fits my interests and become an active
participate in it’s events at least 80% of the time.”
