Objective
• Demonstrate application of the UNFC to fields• Demonstrate how UNFC can be used to bridge
between different national classification systems• Check the UNFC from different position
– Are UNFC used differently by assessors based in different classification systems?

(NORWAY, DISCOVERY 4F)
Gas discovery, in planning phase (RC 4F)Gas discovery in new play model. Main reservoir turbiditic sand.
A secondary, less known reservoir was discovered above the main reservoir.
Production planned through evenly spread subsea production wells. Transport in pipeline to European market.
Economic axis: The discovery is economic, but some issues related to production and transportation (pipeline) is not yet solved
Contingent commerciality
Field axis: The project is in the planning phase, plan for development and production is soon to be delivered.
Contingent project in planning
Geology axis: Several exploration wells are drilled. Geologic modell reasonable well understood.

Conclusions• UNFC works well for classifying fields in Norway• UNFC can be used as a tool to compare different
classification systems• UNFC can be tested by using different
classifications on the same field/discovery• Problems in comparing / harmonising Norwegian
and Russian classifications are due to different exploration, development and production practicesin onshore and offshore areas.
• To further develop and refine UNFC joint case studies should be performed.
