UIW

University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) was founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity and is located on an 154-acre campus just minutes from downtown San Antonio. It is known for its academic excellence, its diversity and personal attention to more than 7,700 students from over 60 countries who call UIW home. As an institution, UIW welcomes international students from Mexico, Taiwan, China, Turkey, India, Korea and France – to name a few. Incarnate Word has a long standing tradition of excellence in education taught by world class professors who bring theoretical and practical applications to the classroom experience. With an average class size of 25 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1, students are able to fully engage in their education. Students are given the opportunity to build relationships that extend beyond the classroom and provide a solid foundation for their future.

UIW is a liberal arts university offering nearly 80 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs of study in virtually every field, including professional programs in Optometry and Pharmacy. It is the largest Catholic university in the Southwest and the fourth largest private university in Texas.
