● Learn about the foundational structures that lead to successful employer engagement with education.

● Gain key insights on successful practices from an Industry Partner Panel.

1:00 p.m. Session 4: Part 2: How Can You Bridge the Worlds of Education and Business?

● Hear from educators on the most valuable business intel and activities that they have experienced.

● Elevate and report out on your engagement practices.

1:45 p.m. Session 5: Evaluate how you support your members talent development strategy through the Lens of the 3As:

Advocate, Advise and Assist.

● Using a strengths, needs, opportunities and barriers protocol, understand your current realities and ability to support

your members.

Table Team Assignment

● Identify your strengths, needs, barriers and opportunities in supporting your members and/or employees in engaging

with CTE Programs to strengthen the return on investments and to develop your action plan in Session 6.

2:15 p.m. Session 6: What Is Your Action Plan (includes a break)

● Work on an action plan to help support your constituency in developing their talent pipeline.

Individual Assignment

● Walk away with a plan on how your organization/association will advise, assist and advocate for deeper engagement

with education addressing your talent development needs.

3:15 p.m. Session 7: The FUTURE Coalition’s Repository of Tools

● Identify ways the coalition can communicate, collaborate and coordinate in the upcoming year to support the

implementation of your action plans.

4:00 p.m. Session 8: Closing Moves

● Wrap-Up, Next Steps and Reflections

8:00 a.m. How Do You Create Dynamic Student Learning Experiences by Creating Powerful Partnerships?

● The challenges of the job market and the premium employers put on real-world knowledge and skills make

meaningful work experience critical to the success of our young people.

Take-a-ways:

● This workshop, geared for teachers, administrators and academy coaches, will offer practical strategies, tools and resources to support the opportunities to strengthen the connection between schools and employer partnerships using the Ford NGL Powerful Partnership Process. Key topics to be addressed:

● What does quality partnership between schools and business look like?

● Self-assessment tool to gauge your strengths and opportunities

● Protocols to use right away to build (or strengthen) the partnership

● Action plan to establish next steps.

● Access to additional tools via Ford NGL U

12:00 p.m. Lunch – on your own

1:00 p.m. What Is ACTE’s Career Pavilion?

● Career Pavilion is about ideas and resources to help you inspire your students about their future career path. It’s also a venue designed to spur discussion and action to address the gaps that exist between education and the workplace.

● Career Pavilion presenters, representing many of the CTE career pathways, will be on hand to provide specific career information. This may include broad information about their business or industry sector, detailed information like starting salaries for specific occupations, curriculum that might be used in a CTE program or specific skills gaps within their industry.

4:00 p.m. Career Pavilion Reception

Join our presenters in a toast to the teachers, guidance professionals and administrators who are preparing our next generation of workers. Beverages and light hors d oeuvres will be served.
