Dr.Ludwin Monz visit at Chitrakoot‐ 06th April Dr.Ludwin Monz, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss
International visited trust along with Carl Zeiss India
Country Heads. The main purpose of his visit was to
understand the Sadguru Service delivery and also to
inaugurate the Lumera Microscope which was donated by
Zeiss to Sadguru Netra Chikitsalya as a Momento of our
relation with Carl Zeiss.
V2020 Conference, Bhopal‐ 6th &7th April SNC has participated actively in the V2020 conference held at
Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Bhopal. A team of 40 people
(including ophthalmologists, administrative and optometrist
staffs) has participated in the program. 10 presentations were
presented by the team of SNC. On the Occasion Dr. B.K.Jain,
Director & trustee received award ‘Shri Dharamsey Nansey
Oman Award’ for Outstanding High Quality and High Volume
in Comprehensive Eye Care Service Delivery.
Hospital Based Program on Orbit & Oculoplasty Ophthalmology ‐27th & 28th April
Two days on Hospital Based Program on Orbit &
Oculoplasty Ophthalmology was organized by Sadguru
Netra Chikitsalaya. Guest faculty of the program was Dr.
Nitin V. Trivedi, Nagri Eye Hospital, Ahmedabad. He gave
hands on training and delivered lecture on Orbit &
Oculoplasty Ophthalmology Dept. to the Ophthalmologists
of SNC.

ORBIS India partners meet: 17th & 18th June ORBIS India organized a two days meet at Hyderabad on
17th & 18th June 2013. The objective of the meet was to
discuss past experiences on India Childhood Blindness
Initiatives and to draw a road map for future course of
actions. Mr.D.Subramanyam from SNC participated in the
meet.
RAABS Planning Meeting: 20th & 21st June The trust is committed to reduce avoidable blindness in
the catchment area; in extension to this commitment trust
has decided to go for Rapid Assessment of Avoidable
Blindness Survey. RAABS is a very effective tool to measure
the eye disease burden, availability and accessibility of eye
care services in any specific geographic region. This will
give us the evidences for prevalence rate of blindness
existing in the region. Dr.Asim Sil, Medical Director, VNNN Chaitanyapuri, West Bengal, visited trust on
20th & 21st June for review of Community Ophthalmology programs and to give us valuable guidance in planning
of RAABS.
Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya- Chitrakoot
PMOA Workshop‐ April‐June
Total 72 Paramedical Ophthalmic Assistants (PMOAs)
undergone 6 days refresher training program during Apr‐Jun
months. The participants from Bihar, Punjab & Chhattisgarh
participated in training programs. The main purpose of the
training program is to orient the Government Paramedical
ophthalmic assistants on skills pertaining to primary eye care
delivery and expose them to recent advances in
ophthalmology at primary, secondary and tertiary care level.
Dr. Ekta Singh : A laurel to SNC Dr. Ekta Singh brought laurels to SNC Chitrakoot by becoming the second
candidate from the institute to clear DNB (ophthalmology). She did this in her
very first attempt. She completed her thesis on “Comparative study between
higher fluidic parameter and lower fluidic parameter in Phaco‐emulsification”
under the guidance of Dr S.P.Jain.

Blood donation Camp – 14th April
Blood donation camp organized in Karwi on 14th April 2013 during the camp 23 unit blood was donated by
volunteers from Nirankari Mission Karwi, Chitrakoot. Mr.Darshan Singh from Nirankari Mission & Dr.A.B.S
Rajput Administrator of JKC Chitrakoot presented on this occasion.
Hydrocele Camp – 16th – 20th April Hydrocele camp was organized from 16th – 20th April by Jankikund Chikitsalya. Total 20 surgeries were
performed on the occasion by Dr.Poonam Adwani.
Hernia Camp – 25th May Hernia camp was organized by Jankikund Chikitsalya on 25th May, 2013. Total 36 surgeries were performed on
the occasion by Dr.Poonam Adwani.
Rural Health Camp JKC has organized a comprehensive health camp at Barua
Kolan village, Majhgawan Block, Dist. Satna. Total 171 patients
were screened and treated with medicines on the day and
those who were in need for surgical interventions were
referred to base hospital. The purpose of the camp was to
access the health status and create health awareness among
the community.

Jankikund Chikitsalaya- Chitrakoot
Earth day – 22nd April Students of Sadguru Public Higher Secondary School
celebrated Earth Day. The celebration was initiated with rally
of students passing through the trust campus. The motive
behind this celebration was to make aware of the hazards
deteriorating our Earth. On the occasion, Chief Guest, Dr. Ravi
Chaure (Dept. Of Geology MGCGVV) addressed the students
and stressed upon saving the earth and environment from
pollutions.

Ram Katha: 11th – 19th April In continuation to the traditional ceremonies
being held at the trust, Raghuveer Mandir
Trust has organized Ram Katha on the occasion
of Ram Navmi. The Ram Katha was delivered
by Vijay Kaushal ji Maharaj. The katha came to
an end on 9th day with the celebration of Ram
Navmi in the presence of Gurubhais and
Sadguru Parivar.
Leadership program The Central HR & Administration team of the trust has
organized an intensive training course for supervisors and
incharges of various departments. The aim of the program
was to make trust, a sustainable model in the field of
service delivery. The purpose was to identify various skills
hidden and to use those skills in consistent and effective
manner which will be a ladder to reach new heights.
5th Sadguru Premier League‐ 28th April‐26th May
SPL‐V came to an end with final match played between
Junior Ophthalmic Eleven Vs Ophthalmic Eleven on
26th May, 2013 in which Ophthalmic Eleven won the
league in a thrilling final outsmarting Junior Ophthalmic
Eleven by 12 runs. Total 20 teams participated in this
league. The tournament was held from
April 28th ‐ May 26th, 2013

World No‐Tobacco Day‐ 31st May Sadguru Parivar organized World No‐Tobacco Day on 31st May 2013. The theme was “Stop tobacco ”. Tobacco
kills almost 6 million people every year and is one of the leading preventable causes of illness and death around
the world. On this occasion Sadguru Parivar presented role play, slogan, health talk with chart & poster .
World environment day – 6th June
The day was celebrated by the trust on 6th
June 2013 in the form of Rally.The theme for
this year’s World Environment Day
celebrations is ‘THINK,EAT,SAVE’. Think. Eat.
Save is an anti‐food waste and food loss
campaign that encourages people to reduce
their food print. According to the UN Food
and Agriculture Organization (FAO), every
year 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted. This is equivalent to the same amount produced in the whole of sub‐
Saharan Africa. At the same time, 1 in every 7 people in the world go to bed hungry and more than 20,000
children under the age of 5 die daily from hunger.

9th VISION 2020 Annual Conference
Team of Sadguru Sankalp chikitsalya participated in 9th
Annual conference of Vision 2020 on 6th & 7th Apr, 2013 held
at Seva Sadan Eye Institute, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Dr.Vishnu Jobanputra (Medical Director & Trustee) presented
on changes of establishing hospital in remote area, and
Dr.Aditi Modi (Program Manager) also presented on
sustainable Outreach Camps. Around 17 employees has
participated in the conference from different departments
(like Ophthalmologists, OT Supervisor, Optometrists, and OPD
Supervisor and Outreach team).
Annual ORBIS India Partner meet
Mr. S Shankar (Asst. Administrator of SSNC) attended and
participated in group discussions in the ORBIS India Annual
Partner Meet on 17th & 18th June 2013, which was organized
by LVPEI‐ICARE, Hyderabad. The Chief Guest of the meeting is
Dr. G N Rao (Chair person LVPEI) and Dr.Rahul Ali (Director
ORBIS India).
Patient Counselors Training Program
Mr. Sandeep Gulbake (Territory Manager) and Mr. Amiya Mandal
(Sales Manager) from Carl Zeiss have conducted a training
program for all patient counselors in the Shri Sadguru Sankalp
Netra Chikitsalaya on 26th Jun 2013. This training program will
help our team to improve their counseling skills and individual
performance in their field.

Staff Education Program
Mr.Agraj Sharma (Sr. Territory Sales Executive) and team from
Alcon Laboratories (INDIA) Pvt. Ltd. conducted Staff Education
Program on 8th Jun, 2013 for Trust employees. Around 180
employees were participated in the program from various
departments of the eye & general hospital.
Cattle Camp Dr. Deshmukh Roy Bhat and team from Rajkot visited trust
Gaushala from 7th to 12th Jun 2013 for animal treatment.
Two camps were conducted by the team; one was in Shri
Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, Anandpur and second was at
Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, karpura. Around 305 cows were
treated in both the camps. Other than the trust, around 87
cows of the local farmers were treated free of cost.
