We are back after the summer holidays with a new number of our magazine. This is issue number 4 and it is mostly dedicated to stories. Students have written stories with the students of the other schools, so every story is made by two countries. We have gathered information about their opinions likes and dislikes. And we also have talked to each other in two video conferences.

You can also find last year’s sections as puzzles, weather forecast, poems, recipes…. As always we hope you enjoy it.

De Nuevo estamos aquí después de las vacaciones de verano. Este es nuestro cuarto número dedicado en su mayoría a las historias. Los alumnos han escrito historias con alumnos de los otros colegios, por lo que cada historia está escrita por dos países distintos.

También hemos recogido su opinión sobre distintos temas así como lo que más y menos les gusta. Otra actividad importante de este trimestre han sido las dos video conferencias realizadas, una con el colegio polaco y otra con el turco gracias a las cuales han podido usar el idioma de una manera real.

También podéis encontrar las secciones del año pasado como por ejemplo, pasatiempos, el tiempo, poemas y recetas, entre otras cosas. Como siempre, esperamos que la disfrutéis.

THE DOG

There was once a lost dog. He didn’t eat or drink anything because his owner abandoned him when he was very small. Days and months passed and the poor dog was walking down the street, until suddenly he saw a child with his mother down the street. The boy saw a shadow and said :

-Mom, what’s that? And the mother says:

-A shadow

-If you already know, let’s see

-Okay.

They walk. Slowly and suddenly they hear a bark and the child says:

- Mom I’m afraid

- Quiet child is nothing.

They walk two seconds, then stop and see the puppy between two containers, the boy said to his mother:

- Mom, can I take it? Please

- If you take good care.

The child screams.

- Yes, yes, yes.- And since then the dog was called Puppy.

Laura Cozma (6th class)

The Bear

Hugo is a brown, small bear and he likes playing. But Hugo can’t play because he has to hibernate until next spring. Hugo’s friends are: Rabi is a white small rabbit and he likes drum and a brown squirrel with a big and hairy tail, with a big hard teeth and he likes to eat hazelnuts.

Hugo’s friends, Ardi and Rabi go to visit Hugo to see if he has awakened,

but he’s been sleeping for two weeks only.

Hugo is sleeping. Hugo’s friends want him to wake up, the cold of winter to go and the hot reach the spring because when spring comes bears awake.

Hugo’s friends continue visiting him for two months.

Three months go away and all bears awake except Hugo.

Ardi takes a bag full of hazelnuts.

- I’m sure he’s hungry and he wakes.

But it does not work. Rabi also tries taking his drum and says:

-Sure that if I play my drum Hugo hears it and wakes.

But neither worked.

Then a deer called Rock comes. Ardi and Rabi asked if he can help. Rock says:

- All we have to do is advance the clock to Hugo to wake up.

Rock then grabs his clock and makes it sound.

Hugo hears the alarm and wakes up. The three friends see how easy it was.

Sheila (6th class)

The ducks

One day the mother and her little chickens go to a path in the river

When is time to go home one chick is missing.

The mother is scared and his brothers are crying.

The mother finds the chick and now the mother is very, very happy!

Finally the mother and the brothers go home. They eat, they wash, they play and they sleep.

Bianca (5th class)

The girl and dog

One day a girl is with her mum.

The girl says: Can I have a dog?

- No, you can’t. Dad doesn’t like dogs.

The girl goes running to her house.

- Dad, dad…

- What?

- You don’t like dogs….

- No, I don’t like dogs. One day in the park a dog bites me. And I‘m very sad.

- I’m sorry dad. Now I’m going to celebrate Halloween with my friends in the park.

- Look, what’s this?

- It’s a dog in a box. My mum is allergic to dogs and my dad doesn’t like dogs.

The girl takes the box and goes home.

Dad says: What is this?

- It’s a dog.

- Doooog? I don’t like dogs

- But, but …The dog is a domestic animal.

- OK you can have the dog.

- Thank you mum and dad! I love the dog and Halloween.

Leonia (5th class)

Halloween

One day two girls go to the playground in Halloween day.

Their names are Cristina and Sara. Cristina is a witch and Sara is a princess.

They are very happy. The go to the shop and they take two pumpkins with a small light inside.

The girls play until half past nine. Cristina says: - Sara come to scare the neighbor with the masks.

They scare the neighbor with the mask. They have fun this night.

Bianca (5th class)

Last 13th November we celebrated our first Video Conference between Virgen de la Guia and Szcola Podstawowa nr 30 (Poland)

We were celebrating the European Label, we were awarded in October

We talked and saw each other for the first time. It was exciting!!

Then, we gave out the European certificates to both classes

And finally, we ate some cakes to celebrate.

It’s very difficult to meet the three schools at the same time, so we had a second video conference with Turkey the 23rd of November.

It was also very successful and children enjoyed the experience.
