Most Loving God, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Our Lady Help of Christians Church are composed of people like me. I help make my parish what it is. It will be friendly, if I am. Its pews will be filled, if I help fill them. It will do great work, if I work. It will make generous gifts to many causes, if I am a generous giver. It will bring other people to love and serve You, if I invite and bring them. It will be a parish of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and faith, and a parish with a noble spirit, if I, who know that I belong, am filled with these same gifts. Therefore, with Your help, Gracious God, I shall dedicate myself to the task of being all of the things that I want my parish to be. Amen.

INTERESTING INFORMATION ON OUR NEW PASTOR: My home country is Uganda which is found on the Eastern part of Africa. My full name is Michael James Opoki and I go by Fr. Mike. My date of birth is July 14, 1964. I was ordained as a priest on December 12, 1992. I have 5 brothers and 3 sisters. My dad was a School Principal and an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. He died in the year 2000. My mum is still living. My parents were daily Mass goers; my mum still goes for morning Mass every day. We have 2 priests in my family. My younger brother is also a priest and is currently working in Uganda. I belong to the Order of the Apostles of Jesus, a Religious Missionary Order which was founded in Uganda. As a priest I worked in Uganda for 6 years, Ethiopia (Africa) for 15 years, and now in the USA by mid June it will be 4 years. Pray for Father Mike as he begins serving as our pastor. Let us welcome him with open arms and open hearts.
PART-TIME PARISH CUSTODIAN NEEDED: After several years of caring for our parishes, Ed Messner is retiring. Ed has taken care of our parish properties and we are truly grateful for his service. His position includes maintenance, basic repairs, grass cutting, cleaning the church, parish hall and education center, monitoring the furnaces, contacting outside companies for special needs. This is a 20 hours a week part-time position. Contact Father Mike at 453-7895 to make an appointment.
Don’t forget to use your Boyer’s key card when you shop at Boyer’s. The church gets 1% of your purchase back. It all adds up when everyone uses their card. If you need a new card, please come by the office or call and we’ll send you one. It doesn’t cost anything to help earn money for your parish!

CATECHISTS NEEDED! We are currently in
need of teachers for Kindergarten, 3rd, 5th and
8th grade. If you have children in our religious
ed program, consider volunteering your time. If
we do not get enough volunteers, it may be
necessary to combine classes. Clearances and
online training are necessary for all our
catechists so these positions need to be filled as
soon as possible to ensure that our catechists
are ready by September. This is truly a
wonderful opportunity for you to learn more
about your faith as you pass it along to our
students. If you are interested, contact Nora at
