Preparation and Remarks:

Back Up Contacts to microSD™ Card

Step 1:

YourphoneshouldalreadyhaveacompatiblemicroSDmemorycardinserted.Onyourphone,gotoContacts icon>Menu Key>Import/Export.

Step 2:

SelectExport to SD card.Whenprompted,selectOK.YourcontactswillnowbetransferredtotheSDcard.

Fullychargethebattery.

RemovethemicroSD™card.

Theupdatetakesapproximately10-30minutes.

Closeanyapplicationsbeforeproceedingwiththeupdate.

PleaseconnectyourUSBcabledirectlytothePC.(DonotuseaUSBhub.)

DonotdisconnecttheUSBcableuntiltheupdateiscomplete.

Callingandmessagingfunctionsarenotavailableduringtheupdateprocess.

Thehandsetisautomaticallyresetduringthisprocess.

GotoSettings>Applications>Development.SelectUSB Debugging>OKtoturniton.

Step 1:

YourphoneshouldnotbeconnectedtoyourPCatthistime.OnyourPC,gotohttp://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jspandclickPhOnE SOfTwARE UPDATE.

Step 2:

DownloadLGMobileSupportTooltoyourPC.

Step 3:

ClickInstall USB Driver.Selectyourcarrierandthendouble-clickLGAS740.Followthepromptstoinstallthedriver.

OncetheUSBdriverisinstalled,connectyourphonetoyourPCwithaUSBcable.ThetoolwillcheckthePC’sconnectionwiththephone.(Ifconnectionstatusisnotprogressing,pleasecloseandreopenLGMobileSupportTool.)

Yourphonewillnowbegindownloadingtheupdate.

Step 4:

ClickStart Updating.Thetoolwillanalyzethephoneenvironment,i.e.,checkconnectionstatuswiththephone.Youwillseethefollowingwindow:

Ifyourphonedoesnothaveenoughspace,youwillneedtouninstallunwantedapplicationsor,ifpermitted,moveapplicationstoyourmicroSDcard.

Otherwise,theupgradewillbeginasshownbelow:

Yourphonewillthenbegintoinstalltheupdate.DonotdisconnecttheUSBcable.

Ifyourphone’susermemoryhaslessthan23MBoffreespace,yourupgradewillstop,andyouwillseethefollowingerrormessage:

Oncetheprogressbarreaches100%,theupdateiscomplete.

Youmaynowpoweronthephone.

Restore Contacts from microSD Card

Step 1:

YourphoneshouldalreadyhaveacompatiblemicroSDmemorycardwithpreviouslybacked-upcontactsinserted.Onyourphone,gotoContacts icon>Menu Key>Import/Export.

Step 2:

SelectImport from SD card.IfyourmicroSDcardhasdatafrommultipleaccounts,youwillbepromptedtoselecttheappropriateaccount.

Step 3:

Choosewhetheryouwanttoimportone,multiple,orallofyourcontactsatonce.TapOKtocopythecontactstoyourphone’sinternalmemory.
