A message from our Pastor: Dear Church Family,
An appealing pull
One man said, “Kindness and compassion are compelling commercials for Christians. When non-Christians see manners from those who follow their Lord Jesus, they are drawn to faith.” Paul put it this way in the book of Ephesians. “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.” And “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:29,32 In day to day life we should do our best to behave. To do this we need God ’s help. In Chris-tian fellowship, people should experience authenticity and others should be able to observe it. And if we fail, we make it right. People act as if everything is rosy in their lives, but we all have a bad day occasionally. But here’s an important lesson. God does not want His children to quarrel. Why? Because “all people will know that you are My followers if you love each other.” John 13:35. How will the world believe that we are Christians? Not if we always agree with each other or are unanimous on every vote, but if we love each other. Paul said in Romans 14:1 “Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.” The Message translation puts it this way--- “Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.” Romans 14:1 MSG. Why is acceptance important? It is it crucial to keep God’s glory as our primary aim in our relationships, rather than our happiness. So, What Do You Say? Let’s draw some folks to Jesus with some kindness and compassion. Let’s all ask, “Who needs some kindness and compassion from me?” and let’s give them some! Pastor John
