OneNoteFrom the Beginning

Creating a Notebook

• Windows Start button• OneNote (opens desktop version of OneNote• File • New• OneDrive Upper Canada (most secure location)• Browse

• Select or create a folder• Name your notebook• Create

*You will be asked if you want to invite others. You can select Not Now and do this later

Accessing your Notebook- OneNote Desktop

• Windows start button

• OneNote

• File- Open (if you are on a shared device)

• Find your notebook title in the recents list

Accessing your Notebook- OneNote Online

• Open a web browser

• Launch Office 365

• Select the app launcher

• Select OneNote

• Select your notebook in Recent or My Notebooks

Accessing a Notebook Shared with You

• Open a web browser

• Launch Office 365

• Select the app launcher

• Select OneNote

• Select Shared with Me

• Look for the name of the Notebook

Creating Sections and Pages

• Copy-paste

• File- Print- Change printer to Print to OneNote 2013

Insert Stuff

Search for Content

• Search for words on the page

• Refine search to:

-page

-section

-section group

-this notebook

-all notebooks

Creating Templates

• From a blank page, create the tool you want to use

• To insert a table:-INSERT-TABLE-Enter basic data

• To save your page as a template:-Select INSERT-PAGE TEMPLATE-PAGE TEMPLATE-at the very bottom right of the screen select SAVE CURRENT PAGE AS TEMPLATE-Name the page

• To set this page as the default template for this section: -check the box below the name of your template and then select SAVE

Set Template as Default Page

• To set this page as the default template for this section: -check the box below the name of your template and then select SAVE

• Now when you add a page in this section, your template should automatically appear.

Sharing a Notebook• File

• Share

• Type first.last name and select person's name once search is finished

• Set permission to View or Edit

• Share

Outlook Mail- Send to OneNote

• Go to OneNote and leave your cursor on the page

• Go to Outlook- Mail and find the desired email

• Select the OneNote option in the Home ribbon at the top of the page

• OneNote icon at the bottom of your scree hould flash

• Select (current page) as location to send email

Email Page

• Place cursor on the page you wish to share

• From Home ribbon, select Email Page

• Address and send email as usual

Exporting

• File

• Export

• Choose Page, Section or Notebook

• Choose the type of file to export to

• Export
