Alma’s food adventures

When I call everyone to come eat a meal, Alma is usually the first one to arrive.

She also doesn’t need much introduction for dessert – ice cream is her favourite!

Alma helped me make a banana cake with lemon glazing (Trudy’s recipe).

She did an excellent job!

This banana cake is different from what I usually make as it has sour cream and glazing.

Yummy result!

Another day she helped me make a layered cream cake with Italian biscotti.

First we made a cup of cocoa and then dipped the biscuits. Next Alma layered the biscuits. I am very impressed how she works to finish the task to the end,

as I am used to Hahgoot giving up early.

On the layer of biscuits Alma spread a layer of jam.Next, she measured sugar for the cream.

Making cream is always popular

After spreading the layer of cream, time for another layer of dipped biscuits

Some more cream...And voila, a great cake is ready!

As part of our efforts to get alma positive

about day care, she helped make “lady fingers” for

her group.

They were the perfect snack for a group of 2 year

old toddlers!

The following week Alma helped to make melon balls for her day care group.

But we don’t always have success: this recipe of pecan

balls with condensed milk failed due to a malfunction of

my blender stick.

Alma didn’t care at all: she had a great time making the sticky dessert and enjoyed sucking it. She also enjoyed the pecans, as it was the first time she could eat nuts whole

Alma loves to try everything with food:Making her own layered sandwich (left),

Peeling and slicing eggs (right)And even trying Misty’s food (bottom) – just as a game, she doesn’t really eat the food!

Our little cheeky monkey at mealtime

Full of personality and yogurt!
