CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Mrs Dunn and Mrs Martyn for the fantastic VATH concert that they organised for last Sunday. As one parent commented, “It was a wonderful event and thoroughly enjoyable. I feel very lucky that my daughter is being exposed to music and performance in such a passionate way.” We are very fortunate to have such skilled and dedicated staff who always give so much! SCHOOL HOLIDAYS With the school holidays almost upon us it is time to plan some family activities. It doesn’t have to be anything ‘amazing’ but an opportunity to have some quality time together. Here are a few suggestions: a bike ride along Fernleigh Track; a walk along the beach followed by fish and chips (and maybe a swim for the ‘brave’); fishing at the lake or on the break wall; drive to Mount Sugarloaf and walk to the top – and maybe have a picnic while you are there; kick a ball in the park; ride the toboggan at Nelson Bay; and the list can go on! Next term why not share some of your ideas and pictures with me that I can put into the Noticeboard. And remember, leave the mobile phone at home.

Congratulations to our very clever Regional Spelling Bee
finalists that represented our school at Hamilton Public
School last Wednesday. The standard was very high and
all of our students achieved fantastic results. In the
Junior Session, Scarlett K made it through to Round 4
and got out on the word ‘couscous’. Billie T got through
to Round 5 and spelt ‘liaison’ incorrectly. In the senior
session, Ava K got through to Round 4 and got out on
‘innocuous’ and Georgia K got through to Round 5 and
spelt ‘cappuccino’ incorrectly. I was so proud of our four
clever spelling representatives.
