Matthew 25:35-36
For I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me into
your house. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited
me. I was in prison and you went to see me.
Matthew 26: 7-10
A woman came up to Him carrying a precious jar of expensive perfume, and she poured it
on Jesus’ head. Seeing this the disciples became indignant, protesting, “What a
useless waste! The perfume could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor. But Jesus was aware of this, so he said to them, “Why are you troubling this woman? What she has just done for me is indeed a
good work.
Acts 9:36
There was a disciple in Joppa named Tabitha, which means Dorcas or Gazelle. She was
always doing good works and helping the poor.
1 Thessalonians 1:3
We constantly recall before God our Father the work of your
faith, the labours of your love and and your endurance and waiting for Christ Jesus our
Lord.
Revelations 2:2
I know your works, your difficulties and your patient suffering. I know you cannot tolerate evil-doers but have
tested those who call themselves apostles and have
proved them to be liars.
Acts 20:35
In every way I have shown you that by so working hard one must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, “Happiness lies more in giving
than in receiving.”
John 9:4
While it is day we must do the work of the One who sent me; for the night will come
when no one can work .
John 10:25
Jesus answered, “I have already told you but you do not believe.”
John 10:38
But if I do them, even though you don’t put faith in me, believe me because of the works I do, and
know that the Father is in me and I in the Father.”
John 14:11
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the father in me; at least believe it on the
evidence of these works that I do.
James 2 : 14-26
What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of
daily food,
and one of you says to them,
“Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give
them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works;
show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my
faith by my works."
You believe that God is one You do well; the demons also
believe, and shudder.
But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without
works is useless?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac
his son on the altar?
You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result
of the works, faith was perfected;
and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,
"AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS
RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God.
You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by
works when she received the messengers and sent them out
by another way?
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith
without works is dead.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred,Let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
