North Wing Corridor

Ebony Dressing Room The rooms on this floor were for the use of visiting bachelors possibly because of the lack of plumbing etc. The Ebony Dressing Room was used by the Companion or secretary of the Gentlemen in the Ebony Bedroom. The wallpaper is a copy of the original, made from samples and information from Lady Alice.

The Visitors Corridor

The 19th Century graining was repaired in 2000 as elsewhere in this part of the house. The walls have been repainted in one of the early colours used in the Victorian era, while the crimson stripe in the cornice was also found during the paint research.

Carpet The Brussels weave carpet has been remade following the design used on the main staircase and in corridors elsewhere in the house.
