THE TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR NIGERIA’S OIL & GAS INDUSTRY
Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) is an association of Nigerian indigenous technical oilfi eld service companies in the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil industry. The association was formed to bring together Nigerian oil and gas entrepreneurs to create a forum for the exchange of ideas with the major operators and policy makers. PETAN are full supporters of NOGTech 2011 and will be in full attendance at the conference and exhibition.
The Niger Delta Ministry is charged with the responsibility of ensuring peace and security for accelerated sustainable development of the nine Niger Delta Oil Producing States, and is structured to address the key issues and problems affecting the region. Oil companies constitute the major players in the economic landscape of the Niger Delta region, hence, matters relating to the performance of oil companies operating in the region are of prime importance to the Ministry. Hydrocarbon Mapping of Nigeria: Application, Execution & Experiences
A key addition to the NOGTech conference programme this year is a session focused on the Hydrocarbon Mapping Project, led by Professor Deborah Ajakaiye, Consultant at NNPC. This project is the fi rst of its kind in Nigeria for100 years and marks a huge investment which is rising to the challenge of accelerated, intensive and systematic exploration of the long neglected inland basins.
This will be the fi rst time Professor Ajakaiye will speak about the project, discussing discoveries so far, giving insights into the technologies being used, and assessing the potential outcomes and prospects for investors, addressed by NAPIMS. This will be a highly informative session and is the only place to hear about the project in detail and assess the investment opportunties.
Any commercial discoveries based on the outcome of the project will foster the attractiveness of the basins for huge investment opportunities by international oil companies with the attendant massive economic benefi t for the host communities and the entire country.
