Nimer ( Engine Engineering ) produce a range of turrets/cupolas which can take a number of
different weapon mounting systems. Protection levels are normally matched to that of the
host vehicle, generally B6.
Nimer has produced and often completed the fitting and integration of turrets and cupolas
to a variety of armoured vehicles.
Well over 100 Piranhas were fitted with Nimer turret systems for the Omani army and
many smaller cupolas have been fitted to smaller vehicles. Nimer has, over the years,
established a significant ‘home market’ in The Oman and many middle eastern countries
and more recently our customer and end user base has expanded to many countries around
the World.
The Cupolas are fitted using either the customer’s own interface ring or one of Nimer’s own mounting rings.
Rings are available in various sizes and specifications.
These drawings show the general arrangement of the Nimer cupola. Top shows optional
armoured hatch, rotating gear and it is fitted with a 50 HMG soft mount.
Below shows the cupola and how it is ring mounted. This shown with twin 7.62 GPMGs. The
mount is able to traverse left and right as well as the cupola being able to rotate ( 360° ).
This version of the Nimer cupola is fitted with a 50 HMG soft mount complete with single
lever locking, T&E and front armoured protection. The specification also includes
mechanical rotation, rear ammo stowage and case catcher bag. This offers the end user a
high specification, well protected turret system for any protected light vehicle.
The Nimer light weight cupola can be fitted to small light armoured vehicles such as the
Panhard VBA seen here,
The Cupola is seen fitted with a Nimer Multimount with .50 HMG mounted.
The Nimer cupola has been fitted to a range of vehicles. Seen here on Hummer
and on Nimer’s own light armoured vehicle the Nimer 2.
