Dear Parents
Welcome to this, the final newsletter for
the year. Thinking back over 2016 there
has been many causes for celebration. Our
numbers have increased markedly, the chil-
dren have been involved in a variety of
events and many have demonstrated out-
standing results. My thanks to the staff for
their never ending work and to the parent
community for their tireless support
throughout the year. Together you have
helped us promote Wyndham Vale Primary
School as a place of educational excellence
in the local community.
Grade 6 graduation.
Congratulations to our year 6 group who
had their graduation ceremony here at
school on Tuesday night, followed by a din-
ner with their teachers as waiting staff! We
are very proud of how these young people
have represented themselves as the leaders
of our school this year. A big congratula-
tions too to Aurora Horobin who was an-
nounced as our Student of the Year, Carol
Nungirayi who won the Julia Gillard award
and Charlie Drieberg who received the Tim
Pallas Endeavour award.
Xmas Raffle
Thank you to everyone who supported our
Xmas raffle which will be drawn at assem-
bly on Monday morning. There are over
20 hampers to be won! Tickets
are $1 each or 12 for $10: see
the office for more details.
A few reminders about the last day of school
on Tuesday:
School finishes at 1.15pm, following a
whole school assembly at 1.00pm
There is NO lunch break on Tuesday and as
such NO school bags are required at school.
Students will only need a small snack in a
labelled disposable bag
Children are required to be in FULL school
uniform
Students will spend a short time with their
new class (and teacher if they are available)
tomorrow. I do remind parents that many
hours have been put into establishing these
classes for next year, inclusive of a mix of
gender, academics, personalities, etc., and
as such no changes can be made
Often students who are leaving the school
wish to have their school T-shirt signed as a
momento. This will only be permitted IF
these children have a signed note from
their parent. NO other student will be per-
mitted to have their T-shirts signed.
(Students will need to bring their own per-
manent marker)
Year Book
A big thank you to Mrs Panczel
for all her hard work in creating
our very 1st Year Book for
WVPS. They look amazing and
it is a great reminder of all the
great times the students have had throughout
the year! Copies of the Year Book were distrib-
uted to those families that ordered them yes-
terday.
Student reports
These will go home with children on Monday.
Please keep an eye out for them.
