FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Thank you to our families for attending our Student
Led Conferences this week. One of the goals of the
conferences is to develop our student’s sense of
agency and voice. They assist our students to self-
evaluate and reflect on themselves as a learner
through engaging with honest and open conversations
with their families. A further goal is to increase our
parents and caregivers understanding of the learning
that happens at school. Through the three-way
conversation, we aim to facilitate the development of
students’ organisation, communication skills as well as
self-confidence.
We are eager to learn how valuable you found the
conferences. Please complete the survey using the
hyperlink below so we can improve the process. This
survey consists of four questions and a section for
customized responses.

F/1–– Imogen – Well done Imogen on working hard towards achieving your literacy goal. You are now able to identify all the letters in your name.
2/3/4H – Matilda – Congratulations Matilda on your efforts last week. It was fantastic to see your consistent engagement and determination to improve your learning. Well done.
4/5/6TS – Austen – For his work creating a Nesting Box prototype. Austen’s focus and attention to detail resulted in an excellent product that met the design brief. Well done Austen.
Previewing Learning Grade F/1W – The students have really enjoyed looking at 2D and 3D shapes. We have been discussing their features and the differences that they have. 3D shapes is a good concept to explore at home, the children have identified that a cylinder looks like tins and rectangular prisms look like tissue boxes, what else can you find? Next week we will be looking at addition, discuss with your child what they know about addition or maybe practice simple addition sums using everyday household items, for example if I have 3 forks and get 2 more how many have I got altogether?
Grade 2/3/4H – In 2/3/4 last week, we finished our unit on mass. We are now looking at measuring the length of objects. Students would benefit from using rulers to measure objects.
Grade 4/5/6TS – This week the 4/5/6 class will be completing a writing task from start to finish, in one hour. This is very good practice for Naplan as students will need to come up with a quick plan and organise their time well to ensure the task is completed. The topic is called “The Box” and will be a narrative. It would be helpful if you could talk to your child about possible ideas for this topic.
Mr T Holt – 17th March
