be rad auction baskets and lots of different raffles, come to hear the live music and check out all of

In a bit of sad news, the Labels for Education program is being discontinued next year. We will be
doing one last collection and contest for all of your labels in April. There will be more information to
follow on the last collection, but continue to collect them as we can still put them to good use.
Remember to continue to use our special Amazon.com link on all of the school web pages for any
Amazon purchases. Thus far we have earned over $200 just from purchases made using our link. This
is an easy way for our school to earn extra money so spread the word and encourage family
members and friends to use our link as well.

I. Old Business
a. Totally 80's Update
Tickets went on sale last week. Next week they go up an additional $10 per couple.
Many, many items have been donated. There are currently over 60 baskets created
and some big ticket silent auction items such as a $1000 scholarship to Vincentian
and $2000 to North Catholic.
Over $5000 in sponsorship money has been raised.
Advertising is in the Hampton News, Local paper, local Facebook pages.
Marina is going to speak at the next faculty meeting about getting teacher
involvement during the event.
$650 was collected from the school families to purchase a large flat screen TV and
US Open tickets to raffle off.
The committee is still looking for donated Steelers Tickets for the silent auction. If you
know of anyone who would be willing to donate a pair of tickets please let Marina
know.
A suggestion was made that the homeroom who has the most attendance from
their parents attending the event will win a pizza party.
b. Mad Science After School Program
We reached our capacity of 25 students.
PTG covered $10 of the fee for each of the students.
The feedback is great and the kids really like it.
c. Fitness Nights
Going to do PIYO or Yoga next.
So far we have made $260 from Fitness Nights.
d. Amazon Link
We have raised $166 so far.
The program we are using (Amazon Rewards) gives our school a pretty high
percentage back. It is between 6-13%. On some orders we have made over $10.
Please keep using this and promoting it. Programs like this are really important to our
budget because Labels for Education and Target Education have ended.
e. Shoparoo
We need to keep promoting this. Only about 20 people are currently doing this. This
is also easy money that will help our budget.

The spring Book fair will be co-chaired by Meredith Kandravy and Suzi LaGamba.
b. Bulb/Plant Fundraiser
Suzi LaGamba is chairing this.
Order forms will be sent home March 18th and be due April 22.
The bulbs will be delivered to your house.
c. Spring Art Show
This is going to be held next year.
We can do other forms of art such as music and poetry.
A suggestion was made to hold the art show in the cafeteria so we can use the cork
boards along the walls.
We can coordinate this during one of the Hospitality weekends at the church.
d. Drive For Kids
The application has been submitted.
We would like to do this during Family Fun Night in May.
e. Mrs. R's Birthday Cake
PTG covered the cost of Mrs. R's birthday cake.
f. Vera Bradley Purse BINGO - March 13th at 2:00
We hope to sell a lot of tickets next week. Parties of 6 can reserve a table.
We need baked goods for our complementary dessert table. Please consider
sending something in for this day.
We also need a few remaining items for our basket raffle. please consider sending
any of the remaining items to the script office by 3/7
1. Gardening items - gloves, shovel, seeds, kneeling mat.
2. Movie related items especially Cinemark gift cards (SCRIPT OFFICE),
popcorn, candy, etc.
3. Gift card to ANY shoe store
Please do everything you can to promote this event. We hope to sell out at 300
tickets.
d. Yummy Island at the St. Mary Church Festival
March 4, 2016 Page 9 of 19
The Yummy Island is the food booth at the church festival, and traditionally it has
been run by the PTG. This started years ago when the school was a lot bigger and
there were many more families to help. In recent years PTG has had a lot of trouble
finding school families to volunteer to work at the food booth during the festival.
Meredith went to the festival planning committee to voice our concerns and a
church member suggested we partner with the Knights of Columbus to help with the
food preparations.
The Knights of Columbus are very willing to help. The plan is that they will grill
hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages and help with the food preparations.
We still need parent and teacher volunteers. We would like people to sign up for 2
hour shifts during the festival.
A suggestion was made that since SMAA gives volunteer credit for working at their
booth during the festival we should give volunteer credit towards our assessment
fee.
Another thing to consider would be allowing families to earn money towards their
assessment by volunteering at PTG events.
The Festival has been moved to Father's Day Weekend this year.
e. Teacher Wish Lists
Some of the money that is earned during the 80's night can go towards items
teachers want and need for their classroom.
A suggestion was made to have the teacher's create a wish list that can be shared
at the 80's Night. Parents can view the wish list and donate individually to a
particular teacher's wish.
. f. Family Fun Night
This will be held in May.
We are also inviting families who will be new to the school next year.
. g. Labels For Education
This is the last year for this program. We plan on having a big collection in April.
Make sure to get your Labels For Education together because there will be
classroom contests as well.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016
