Making Waves is a program that supports affordable swimming instruction for children with special needs. This is the first time that a program such as this has ever existed in the region. Collaborating with a fellow student, have organized our own chapter and gained the support of a university
faculty member, a human kinetics coordinator and the official approval of Making Waves Canada.This position involves, booking pool times, finding
volunteer instructors, accruing funding and promoting the program to the children who can benefit the most.

through art. The proceeds from their sales keep the program on its feet. My volunteering there is alongside
my Best Buddy Lisa and a group of other talented artists in creation and promotion of their artwork. I also
aid in organizing their art shows throughout the community and the university as well.
