My Neighborhood VisionBased on the needs of your residents, the MasonValues, and your professional identity, what is yourvision for your neighborhood?
How will you implement this vision with your OHRL neighborhood team?
What will you do to forecast effective spending and how will you assist your staff inplanning to spend their budgets?
Its a terrible thing to see and have no vision. - Helen Keller
How is your vision shaped
by who you are as aprofessional and what youvalue in a community?

Neighborhood Presents Programsare largescale events open to the campus community and
hosted by the neighborhood teams 3 to 5 times
per semester. These large scale events connect
students to their living environment as well as
engage them with the campus community.
ADRLS oversee the vision, budget, and successful
completion of the large scale programming process
with their RD team. Neighborhood Presents programsshould connect students to their neighborhood
community and engage them with campus resources.
Community/area programshappen weekly and are
planned and implemented by RAs. We encourage RAs to
plan many of their programs for their individual community
but there will be opportunities to connect residents with
their fellow community members in their residential area.
ADRLs work with RDs to ensure that community development
plan goals are being met through these programs and that
these goals fit into their vision.
Community meetingsare guided
discussions facilitated by the RAs during
which residents discuss their community
needs whether its setting community
standards or discussing closing.
ADRLs ensure their vision is being
maintained through community
meetings.
CDC Supported Series Programsare smallercollaborations with university partners while providing
residents with unique opportunities to connect to their peersin the neighborhood. This is an experience for HRA andgraduate student CDC members to plan programs. TheCDC provides support and will host at least 3 events in eachneighborhood per semester.
ADRLs work with their CDC representatives to ensure the
series program follows with all neighborhood branding
(logos, titles, etc.) and neighborhood vision.
The things we do
RSA Involvement is a criticalpiece of community developmentfor the neighborhood and campus
community.ADRLs will encourage RDs to
consider how decisions will impact
residents and how to include RSA in
neighborhood programming and
decisions.
