The construe*tion of highway and railroadsmarked a very decided epoch inthe history of south Florida Theperfection of light-houses and fastboats stopped the wrecking on theshores. In short at that time thekeys lost their West Indian crops.West Indian natives. West Indiancustoms and West Indian glamor.There is perhaps littleof the Flor-ida of old which can be saved. Wrecking was a legitimatebusiness, and Key West was itscenter. Captains of old time[schooners had their homes there.
