1. Scope

1.1 This standard covers pertinent design data and Mil-Std Fart Numbersfor American Gage Design Standard, LO (not go), right-hand thread ringEaEes for the inspection of the minimum limits of Unified Standard

I963

.-classes M, 2A, 3A and American National Standard classes 1, 2, 3 externalthreads.

1.1.1 This standard also covers pertinent design data and l.lil-StdPartNumbers for the applicable American Gage Design Standard truncatedthread setting plug gages and go and not go plain plug acceptance checkgages. The go and not go plain plug acceptance check gages are only

applicable to not go thread ring gages having a minor diameter below.375 inch.

1.2 ‘lhe minimum 1imits of certain standard external threads are

identical--for both the Unified Standard and American National Standardthread systems for the same nominal size, threads per inch, and classof fit. In these particular cases one part number is applicable and

the thread designation is combined.

Example: .5000-13uNC-3A-3

1.3 The design data for not go thread ring gages employs class “X”gage manufacturing tolerances in accordance with the U. S. Departmentof Commerce Handbook H28 ‘Screw-Thread Standards for Federal Services

1.4 The design data for truncated thread setting plug gages employsclass “;<”gage manufacturing tolerances except that class” “W” gagetolerances are specified for “Variation in Lead” and “Half Angle” inaccordance with the U. S. Department of Commeice Handbook H28 “Screw-

Thread Standards for Federal Service,s”.

2. Referenced Documents

General Requirements

This standard contains four tables. Table I provides tabulated designrequired for manufactme and inspection and is arranged in astendingsequence according to thread designation for Unified Standard gages.

Table II provides tabulated design data required for manufacture andinspection and is also arranged in ascending size sequence according tothread designation for Ametican National Standard gages. Table III containsthread designations previously listed in the standard series of UnifiedStandard thread (with the exception of L.0000-14NS-1, 1.0000-14NS-2, and1.0000-l&NS-3 which were listed also in tbe American NatioMl Thread Series). They have been redesignated from Standard to special (UNS) threads and arelisted herein for reference purposes. Table IV is a listing of Mil-Std PartNumbers in ascending numerical sequence, and is provided as an aid for locat-ing the required design data contained in tables 1, II, and 111 for anY givenMil-Std Part Number.

4.1.1 Tables I, II, and III. Tabulation of Design and Identification Data.

4.1.1.1 Mil-Std Part Numbers and the corresponding thread designations foreach not go thread ring gage and related check gages are listed in columnsBand C respectively.

4.1.1.2 Column A Iiats the proper reference to the applicable figure(drawing) for aach Mil-8td Part Number.
