MEETING WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN

USING THE PEXIP INTERNET SITE:

AN ILLUSTRATED GUIDE FOR PATIENTS

Make sure the camera on your device is near

eye level.

For better sound quality and increased privacy, consider using a headset or

earphones with a built-in microphone.

Make sure you are sitting somewhere quiet and private.

Get ready for your appointment at least 15

minutes in advance.

Your physician will email you an internet link. It should look something like this:

https://my.telemerge.ca/meet/12345678

The number at the end of this link is specific to your physician. It is the number you will use to enter their

“virtual meeting room.”

Example only - your physician’s number will

be different.

Joining your appointment

You may be able to click on the link your physician sent, and it will open your internet browser. If not, either copy and paste the link into the top line of your browser, or type it in.

If you click on your physician’s link, your computer might automatically open a different browser application like Internet Explorer. Make sure that you open Chrome.

When you enter your physician’s ‘virtual room’ for the first time, you may be asked to allow access to your camera and microphone. Click ‘allow’.

Join your appointment by clicking here 5 minutes before it starts.

You might have to wait until the physician is finished a prior appointment. In that case, this button will read ‘Room is locked’ and you will be temporarily unable to join.

You can also phone in with the number found by clicking here, or dialing the toll-free number

1-844-379-5305

You will enter the my.telemerge.ca internet site, also known as Pexip, which will look similar to this.

Your Physician’s VMR

The gear icon will take you here, where you can check that your camera is on and your lighting is bright enough to see you.

You should see this green bar moving when you talk, indicating that your microphone is on.

You can play a test sound to check if your speakers are loud enough.

When you’re done checking, click save and you’ll be taken back to the main screen.

You will then be brought into the call with your physician.

At the end of the call your physician will disconnect you. You can then exit your web browser.

If you don’t have the Chrome browser on your computer, you can install it by clicking the link below, and then clicking ‘download Chrome’ on the Chrome website:
