WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• May Gibbs Christmas organic cotton homespun fabric:

• 1 strip of fabric 16” x 5” for the back and outside of the pocket

• 1 strip of fabric 16” x 5” for the front and inside of the pocket

• Coordinating cotton thread

• Ruler

• Scissors

• Pins

• Sewing needle

• Sewing machine

• Iron and iron board

• Blunt tool for corners (e.g. a bamboo stick or chopstick)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Cut 2 strips 16” x 5” from each of your fabrics.

Step 2 - Place fabric strips right sides together, pin the sides and bottom and sew around the edges with 1/4” allowance.

Step 3 - Turn fabrics right side out.

Step 4 - Push corners out with the blunt tool and press the strips with an iron.

Step 5 - Fold the raw top inside 1/4” and press.

Step 6 - Fold the bottom 5 1/2” up.

Step 7 - Pin the sides along the folded fabric and sew all around the pocket with 1/8 allowance.
