Ocean Literacy Scholarships• The Bandon Submarine Cable Council (BSCC) is a

group of Oregon’s commercial trawl fishermen who are interested in enhancing the education of Oregon’s youth regarding fisheries and marine conservation issues.

• For the 10th year, the BSCC allocated $20,000 in scholarship funds to Marine Discovery Tours, due to our demonstrated leadership in unique hands-on marine field trip programs.

• In 2011, 1,013 students benefited from this program - 183 were from LCSD – applications are easy!
