1. Introduction to LG HomeChat
• Which Dryer Models support HomeChat service?

• What are the main Dryer functions provided by LG HomeChat?

• What are the system requirements for LG HomeChat?*
The recommended phone specification are as below:
1. Recommended OS
- iPhone: iOS 7.0 or higher (iPhone 4s or higher)
- Android: 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher (1G memory or higher)
2. Recommended browser
-iPhone: Default browser and/or Safari browser
-Android: Default browser and/or Chrome browser
* Note that depending on the condition of your mobile device, some functions may not be

• What kind of service is LG HomeChat?
- LG HomeChat service enables users to chat with their products with everyday
language through mobile messenger LINE.
2. Getting ready to use LG HomeChat
Please check if the LINE application is installed on your
mobile device, and if not, search and install 'LINE' from
your application market(Google Play Store,
Apple App Store).
Additional data charges may occur if installed
over 3G/4G.

② Find 'LG HomeChat' from the list or search for
'LG HomeChat' through the search function and
select it.
③ Add 'LG HomeChat' as friend, and you
are ready to chat with LG HomeChat.

Tip for adding friends
① Launch LINE and tap 'More > Official Accounts'
button.
Go to 'Add Friends > QR Code' menu on LINE and scan the QR code
on the right to access adding friends function more conveniently.

② If you are over 13, tap the
'13 or older' button.
LG HomeChat does not allow service to young
children for safety purposes. Please make
sure young children do not use HomeChat
service.

② Tap the Dryer Icon from the product icons
available for HomeChat connection.

2. Getting ready to use LG HomeChat
Please register by following the
instructions provided by LG ThinQ.
① To control your products through
HomeChat, you need to first register your
product. Enter “Connect” for the „Connect
My product‟ link.
If you do not have a LG Account, please
register by tapping the “Sign Up” button on
the bottom of the page.

⑤ If necessary, enter your wireless password.
LG Smart ThinQ is a service that manages the appliances in your home. You can remotely control
your dryer after registering the ThinQ ID through the display found on front of the product.
Follow the steps below to register your product. If the dryer is already connected to Wi-Fi then skip
to step 2.

Step 1. Setting Wireless Network for Dryer
① Tap the Settings button on the dryer LCD screen.
② Tap the Wi-Fi button on the Settings screen. ③ Tap the Wi-Fi on/off button. The Wi-Fi is turned
on when a check is displayed on the box.
④ Select your network from the list of available networks.
⑥ Wi-Fi setting is complete. Tap the „Product Registration‟ button and proceed to step 2.

Step 2. User Registration for Dryer
① Tap the Settings button on the dryer LCD screen.
② Tap the „Product Registration‟ menu from the settings page.
③ Tap the „OK‟ button after entering your ThinQ (LG Account) ID and password.

ThinQ.

④ When the completion notification appears, the registration is complete and your dryer is
registered to ThinQ.
Go back to the messenger and connect to
HomeChat.

① If you have registered to ThinQ and your
product is connected, insert LG Account ID
and Password and tap „Connect to
HomeChat.‟
② Products with „Available‟ displayed on the
right is available for HomeChat service.
Select a product you wish to connect to
HomeChat, and tap „Next‟.
③ Connection successfully completed!
Tap „Go back to Chatroom‟ and chat to
your products.
Enter “Dryer What are you doing?" or “Dryer
Status“ to check the current status of your
Dryer.
Enter ” Dryer” to call your Dryer.

Command List
The Remote Start function is unavailable
for dryers. You must start your dryer
manually.
User Tip
Enter ”Dryer Quick button” to active the
quick button function.
You can select functions by tapping on the
buttons or by entering the key words.
3. Using LG HomeChat
You can prevent your laundry from having
wrinkles by setting Wrinkle Care during
washing.
Enter “Dryer Wrinkle Care On“ to activate
Wrinkle care and enter "Dryer Wrinkle Care
Off“ to turn it OFF.

HomeChat will send you notification when drying is complete or if an error is detected.

Install the „LG Smart Laundry‟
App on your mobile device and
connect your dryer to ThinQ to
control your products through
HomeChat.
If the app is not already installed,
search and install „LG Smart
Laundry‟ from your app market
(Google Play Store, Apple App
Store).

① Run the app once installation is complete.
② Detailed dryer functions can be used once you log in using your ThinQ ID
and password.

User Tip
Additional data charges may occur if installed over 3G/4G.
Enter “Dryer Download Cycle“ to download
additional cycles that are not installed on the
dryer.
Select a cycle you want and the dryer will
automatically download it for you.

Dryer Power OFF
Turn Dryer Power OFF when you are done giving
commands.
Enter "Dryer Power OFF“ or “Turn Dryer OFF" to
turn Dryer Power OFF. Once power is off, you
cannot turn power ON through HomeChat.
When you feel that there is something wrong with
the dryer, you can self check its status through
the „LG Smart Laundry‟ App.
Please select the app link that appears after you
enter “Smart Diagnosis“.

① Tap the „Smart Diagnosis‟ menu on the bottom or the
middle.
② Read the instructions then tap the „OK‟ button.
③ Select a Smart Diagnosis method and then proceed to
check the results.

You can activate functions for situations such
as leaving home, coming home, sleep, or
party at once.
Enter ”Settings“ to set functions for Master
Control.
① Select „Master Control‟. ② Select mode.
③ Switch the product of your choice
to ON and select functions.

Enter ”Leaving home" after setting Master Control settings to activate the functions you set.

Service Settings

Enter “My Products“ to change settings or to see the
status of your products in detail.
Tap on the link provided to go to the My Products
page.
You can change nicknames, view status,
go to product location settings, view
manuals, and view mutual users by
selecting the product.
Enter “Settings” for notification settings,
smart functions settings, and service
settings.
Tap the link provided to go to the settings
page.
If you want to stop using HomeChat service, enter "Terminate Service" in your HomeChat
conversations for Service Termination page and information.
You can delete HomeChat from Messenger Friends list from the messenger settings.

① Enter "Terminate Service" and tap the „Go to Service
Termination Page‟ link.
② Please read the service termination information and tap
'Terminate'.
③ 'Service Termination' is complete.

4. LG HomeChat Service Inquiry
① Go to the top right menu in your chatroom > tap 'Block'
button.
② „Settings‟ > „Friends‟ > „Blocked Users‟ : Remove „LG HomeChat‟.
